I don't believe it - your post about booking Kalami appeared whilst I was typing my extensive post above. Yes, it took me that long, work kept interrupting!
You have chosen well. Since our first visit to Kalami & Corfu in October 2001 we have been back 7 times, always to the A & A. We are making our 9th visit this coming September.
The Corfu town to Kassiopi service runs 4 times a day and picks up on the main road above Kalami. Unfortunately it does not run in the evenings. If you wanted an evening in Kassiopi you could get the bus in and get a taxi back (€20-25)

Thanks again Deedee.
I must have read your mind as you were typing .. somehow.
Corfu in '88 was fantastic. Perfect for 2 weeks peace after all the madness on the run up to the wedding.
The thing I remember most was how friendly people were. From the owners of the small family run tavernas to the little old lady who came up to us when we were cycling and gave us handfuls of plums.
EllanJay .. sounds perfect. Is it easy enough to find out details about the trip and book it? I take it theres a Tourist Office in Kalami village?

Corfu is still fantastic and the friendliness of the people hasn't changed either.
I would second Ellenjay's recommendation of the evening boat trip to Corfu town - it is a lovely experience.

Hi Manncubdad,
I'm sure you'll love Kalami, we're back this year for the 10th time and have stayed five times at the Adonis. Really lovely tavernas, and a great friendly atmosphere at the bar in the Adonis. We got married in the town hall above Kalami three years ago and had our reception at Thomas's Taverna on Kalami beach, so it will always be a special place for us.
Love

Normally the thing I'm really looking forward to and cant stop thinking about all through Jan, Feb, March, April, etc, is my annual trip to Glastonbury Festival.
This year, thanks to this forum, its my return to Corfu.
Just wish it wasn't 4 months away.
The bay at Kalami looks great for snorkelling. My daughters will love that. How's the water temp at the end of May??
