Hi everyone,
I am new to this site, we are going to be spending our first time in Corfu at the Corcyra Beach Hotel end August 09. How far would you say is Corfu town (walking distance) has Gouvia got some good bars/restaurants, or do we have to travel a bit further for this.
would appreciate your help.

I have been to the Corcyra Beach for the last 2 years and going back in June. Corfu town is around 10-15 mins in a taxi, taxi can be booked at reception, think last year it was around 10-15 euro one way but I am just going at what people have told me. Gouvia I love, lots of lovely bars and tavernas and the people are so friendly, there are many supermarkets and shops also. Sorry I don't know how long to walk to Corfu town as we never have had to.

I must be mad then I walked from Corfu to Gouvia.
Lots of watering holes. lol
It was fun.
Stayed ar Corcyra Beach too...nice place.

Many thanks for your replies! Glad to hear there are some nice bars/restaurants in Gouvia!! Been on trip advisor forums & not had such good reports regarding this hotel & Gouvia?? Hotel looks very nice to us anyway! Glad to hear from people who have actually stayed in this hotel! We have upgraded to sea view room,as lots of people have suggested this!

Good move the sea view is a must. Do you have any children going with you as I think many of the family
rooms are in the Nausica building.

Hi Becky Now I have joined this forum and the posts re-Corcyra are good! I am also looking forward to it! We are cruising round the Greek islands for a week then onto Corcyra for our 2nd week, we are meeting our four friends at the Corcyra which will be nice! Cannot wait! Need some sunshine??????
