Hi all
I've been in Kavos for a couple of days now and, guess because I didnt do my homework properly......, I'm wondering if someone could let me know where the closest supermarket is please? It's not that the food offered here is bad or more expensive than at home but there are only a few places doing authentic (chip- less) Greek dishes so I thought I could buy fresh and eat at the apartment but the supermarkets here don't seem to sell any traditional, or any other, fresh food and what is for sale is more expensive than in the UK. :-( I guess I picked the wrong area to have the Greek experience, HELP!
:-)
PS I filmed some of the lightening show last night, that was AMAZING!!

Hi the nearest big supermarkets are on the main road in Lefkimmi. You will need transport to get there as its about 3/4 miles from Kavos on the dual carriageway(new road).
You will need to go to the junction of the road out of Kavos and the Port of Lekimmi road ,turn left and a fair way along there you will find one and then at the end of dual carriageway another.
There are lots of restuarants in Kavos that sell good food,
Lots of the local greek dishes come with chips so just leave the chips.
I am sure someone on this site will be able to point out the best places to eat.Two we know are Ligourges on the beach down a lane behind Chandris Hotel and Venus in the Aspro Kavos Area. There are some good restaurants /Tavernas at the river Potami in Lefkimmi.
If you have an appartment equipped enough and a larder/fridge with all the basic herbs, spices and oil to cook a meal then you are lucky.
Forget cooking for your self its cheaper to eat out.
Cala orexi.
