Hi, my brother lives in greece and i want to bring him into the 21st century and get him internet connection.  They don't even have a phone!  Can you give me some idea of connection and monthly costs for this?

Also can you recommend providers.

It all depends on where he is in Greece, if he is in Athens I should imagine it is easier to get connected than it is in Corfu!! You have to have a telephone connection which can take from anything 6 months to over a year and then they can't promise when you will get internet connection, especially adsl because they don't buy up the lines before selling them so there is always a waiting list and it can be very frustrating even if you are living here.

The alternative is internet via your mobile phone but I am afraid I dont have a clue how much it is to get connected and how much the monthly charges are, someone will be able to help you tho

You can wait anything from weeks to months with the OTE phone company. I was on the waiting list, and i finally got dsl broadband after 6 months. So it can take forever.

OTE called me to tell me that I could now get broadband and it was available to me straight away. It still took me nearly three months to get it.

I was told the same thing.  Connection within 1 - 2 weeks max. That was last July when i was put on the waitng list.  I got connected 2 weeks ago.
