Going to AG on 30th. Just collected Going Places Cash Passport which seems to be a VISA card - EUR Travel Card. Have been advised that you can use these at all ATM's and restaurants etc. Have also just found this site and seen comments about ATM's not taking VISA cards. Does anyone know if the card we have got will work?!

Helen,

The truth is I am unable to tell you 100% if your Visa card will work in the ATM in Agios Gordios. Please be prepared that it will not ang have a few Euros with you until you are able to use it elsewhere. No Euro's, take some crisp £notes into George at Gee Bees to see you over. As to using your visa card for purchases, NO,NO, NO. Pay local currency in cash. Too many people have had their card charged the Euro value and not the £ value, costly. About 1.5 times more than you expectecd. Card cloning is rife so never let the card out of your sight even for a moment regardless of the excuse. Get Cash from ATM's and pay in cash if you have the right card.

Yammas,  Colin.

Thank you so much for your reply Colin. This is our first time to AG and this site has been a God send!

The card is loaded in Euros but I think we should probably change to tavellers cheques anyway!!

Thanks Again

Helen
