Hi Mick and Sharon,

That sounds great! We can offer the full National Curriculum to your grandchildren and my partner James is secondary trained as well. Hope you all get to come out together.

Good luck

“ We've got a house in Magoulades next to the monastery, which is lovely yet 2 years down the line I'm still waiting for electricity!! I was just wondering if anyone lives near by who may want to offer any advice or simply say hello”.

HI Kelly and James
Sorry to read about your problems with the DEH. It’s been about 3 years ago since I read a similar post on this site. So I thought things might have improved. I myself haven’t had any problems like your but I did find I needed lots of patients with them.
I think their system is crazy…before I went to the main electricity board to get (and this was reconnection) I had to obtain certain papers and stamps first in Corfu Town then head out to the DEH. I had sighted myself up to have the same problem with the water board (my water board is in Kaloura ) I walk in and after giving them my name they said your Roseanne from Kassiopi

I take it you don’t have any houses and an electrical pole near you. Is your house a new build…? Do you have a friendly builder…? or any Greek men you know well, It about contacts this might help you …PM me and I’ll give you my email address.

Regards
Roseanne

Thanks for all your help. I've spoken to my lawyer who tells me I should have electricity within 5 weeks as they have to obtain a particular letter which a builder has. (It's all very complicated!!)

This is great news of course however I have heard this before. But hey, what's another 5 weeks when we've been waiting for so long already! I am slighty starting to panic as we will be over in 7 weeks time. ARRRGGGHHHH!

Can any one offer any suggestions as to what I can do if I don't have it up and running by then. Is it a case of getting a generator? I'm apprehensive about using one, I'm under the impression they're dangerous?

We plugged into next door and just had one light and the fridge running. You don't really need hot water for showers in the summer as the cold water comes out warm.

Only problem is that we don't have any neighbours!

I'm told that a proverbial "brown envelope" often helps expedite this sort of thing. The trick seems to be knowing who to give it to.
