Welcome on CTG. You will find a lot of stories and info here by people who made the same decision.

Don't hesitate to ask anything you may need to know about Corfu. I wish you the best for your decision.

i will also be making the move to Corfu next year, probably in March/April time.  i am going to the north west, Sidari, Avliotes & San Stefanos areas and looking to work around there as well.   And renting for a while as well.

I have just turned 39 and have always wanted to live on COrfu since my first visit in 1997 and decided - like you - time to take the plunge.  Scary giving up job though!

I have a greek partner, which makes the decision even easier though!  he will be helping me with any 'red tape' like residents permits etc.

Good luck and probably see you next year!

Hi Buzzybee,

Well done on making the decision to move next year!!

I am moving on 12th September and will be staying in Acharavi, along with me will be my two young children both under 3.

I have reached the 41 age and can tell you that life really does begin so no worries about the up and coming birthday.

cherylj is right about the age thing as we all seem to be around the 40 age bracket.Perhaps we should form a fortys club when we all get there!

good luck and hope we all keep in touch.

Like all many of the others it was easier to buy everything as flatpacks, shop around for bargains and send everything in one go mainly in order to save time looking for everything we needed in Corfu.

I shipped all our furniture to Corfu, door-to-door from Cardiff to Nymfes, with Mondial. I was a bit concerned at times because they came accross as a bit disorganised. Anyway, credit where its due the delivered the furniture to my house on the day we arrived and only 1.5 hours late. Cost £810 for 1,000kg, 5sqm. Telephone 020 8805 3344.

I have since been recommended Hermes as being efficient and reasonable. Telephon Vassilios Koskinos 0030 2661058408 also you may wish to speak to Kosta on 02920 463834.

Any queries give me a SHOUT!!
