About half way along the recently re-paved path up to the Venetian castle of Assos is the charming chapel of the Virgin Mary. This is a Greek Orthodox church which offers religious services within the chapel and civil ceremonies can also be performed within its grounds by special arrangement.
After the ceremony a champagne toast with wonderful views across the pretty harbour of Assos provides excellent photo opportunities.
Local musicians complete the atmosphere with the intoxicating sound of mandolin strings as the couple approach the church.
