Veggera Taverna and Apartments in Vassilikades

Martina and Spiros welcome you to their family business
in the charming village of Vassilikades, Cephalonia. The Veggera Taverna specialises in home-made traditional Greek recipes using locally grown produce, fresh fish and locally bred meat.

Their menu offers a selection of grilled specialities, freshly prepared home cooked traditional Kefalonian dishes such as Kefalonian meat pie and offers a children's menu.

This is a local, friendly business offering great service and low prices and the establishment is frequented by many of the local residents as well as tourists staying in Vassilikades, Manganos, Fiscardo, Assos and surrounding villages as its position is central to all.

The Veggera has a flower filled courtyard at the front and the back terraces offer superb views across the sea and white cliffs towards the Pali Peninsula. One of the best times to visit is at sunset which is spectacular and truly romantic.

For cooler evenings, snuggle up inside in the cosy Veggera Taverna by the log fire to enjoy wining and dining at its best.

Every Saturday night the Veggera hosts a popular Greek night with a band of local musicians playing Greek music. The Greek night has proved so successful that there is another one planned for mid-week.

The Veggera is an ideal venue for wedding receptions and Christenings. Martina and Spiros will be happy to give you some menu suggestions for your special occasion. For those getting married at the Vassilikades town hall, the Veggera is very close by welcoming you and your guests for an evening to remember in an ideal location, with great views, super food, friendly service which all contribute to a very memorable evening.

The Veggera is either the first or last restaurant in Vassilikades depending on the direction of your journey. It is a popular choice for anyone staying in Fiscardo as it is 15 minutes drive from Fiscardo (drive through the village and it is the last taverna on your right as you exit Vassilikades). Vassilikades is centrally situated and fairly close to Myrtos beach and Assos in the other direction (first taverna on your left as you enter Vassilikades).

Veggera has three one-bedroom apartments which sleep 2 to 3 persons. They each consist of a double bedroom, open plan living/dining room which doubles as a bedroom for an extra person or child and fully equipped kitchen. Separate bathroom with shower and wc.

The apartments each have their own verandah as well as a communal garden with shade under the trees and excellent sea views.

The two-bedroomed 'sofita' or attic apartment is situated on the top floor of the property.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and separate bathroom.

This sleeps up to 6 persons in one twin bedroom, one double bedroom , using the living room to sleep 2 more persons.

The apartment has a balcony offering wonderful sea views and great sunsets.
