Avithos resort is a brand new complex built in the traditional Kefalonian style, set in spacious gardens and grouped around a large swimming pool. The resort is located in southern Kefalonia close to Avithos beach. This is a lovely, fertile region where olive trees and citrus orchards abound. The coastline faces the tiny island of Dias and offers magnificent views to the island of Zakynthos across the channel.
The Avithos Resort has sixty four rooms which include studios, superior studios, family maisonettes and apartment-suites. A separate building, houses the lounge and bar where you can enjoy a refreshing drink or cocktail, while the restaurant offers a variety of local and international dishes. The large freshwater swimming pool, located in the middle of the Resort's grounds, is complemented by a children's pool.

The resort's location makes an ideal setting for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. The nearby village of Svoronata is never crowded with tourists so there are no intrusive noises or sights to hamper your relaxation and private time. The living quarters are well designed and decorated, combining elegance and comfort and have all the amenities for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
The area of Avithos and the village of Svoronata are perfect for nature lovers who enjoy walking in the country side as they will discover a wealth of herbs, flowers, aromatic shrubs and birds. There are orchards and olive groves amid the pine trees which offer shade for early morning or evening walks.
Avithos has a sandy beach
Avithos is an area renowned amongst the locals for its beach. It is located on the southern coast of Kefalonia across from Zakynthos, with the very small island of Dias in the foreground. You won't find tourist shops and bars in fact, you'll have to go to the next village of Svoronata to find a supermarket or taverna.
What you will find are soft sandy beaches with gently sloping shores and shallow waters edges. The beach isn't huge, so it won't be densely packed with beds, umbrellas and bodies and, considering its size, the fact that it offers two tavernas (both of good reputation) and a beach bar guarantees that you will find something to suit your palate until late in the evening, well after the sun has gone down.
You can almost drive onto the beach, which can also be reached by staggered steps. Megalipetra Beach , on the other hand, is only accessible by foot either along Avithos Beach or down a rough dirt track. You will need to take your own refreshments and shade.
The sandy beaches of Avithos and Megalipetra are divided by a rocky outcrop and are ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The more action-packed beaches with sea sports, the famous Makrys and Platys Gyalos are only a fifteen minute drive away.

Avithos location
Avithos is a perfect place for a holiday and an ideal base for exploring the island. Transfer from the airport (3km away) takes a quarter of an hour and the beach resort of Lassi and the capital of Argostoli are 8 & 10 kilometres away. The nearby villages of Kaligata, Kourkoumelata and Metaxata are charming local villages each with its own character and history. The shipping magnate Vergotis rebuilt Kourkoumelata after the 1953 earthquake and Lord Byron stayed in Metaxata where the views of the Livatho region inspired his poetry.

Family studios are located in a spacious area with Mediterranean gardens just beside the pool, like a traditional neighbourhood. Family studios comfortably sleep three persons with room for a fourth child person. The separate bathroom has a shower or bath, wc and a hairdryer. Maisonettes
Maisonettes are on the first floor. Each one has steps leading up to a separate mezzanine area which sleeps two persons on a twin or double bed. Downstairs there are 2 sofa-beds for a total of 4 in each apartment. The maisonettes are tastefully furnished with marble-topped tables and attractive furniture. The fully equipped kitchen has a cooker, a fridge, a microwave oven and a kettle. Spacious balconies with magnificent views to olive groves and the sea complete the wonderful apartment.
