The hotel has a range of accommodation from suites, to self-catering maisonettes and there are a total of 7 swimming pools (2 of which are for children). There is a fully equipped gymnasium with sauna and a tennis court. Diving courses are arranged for swimming pool instruction. There is even an open-air cinema! You have a choice of places to eat within the hotel. .Breakfast is a home made buffet of omelettes, cake and pies or you may have a healthy, low fat breakfast if you prefer. The Riza is a newly established bar and restaurant bar with its own heated pool and jaccuzzi, serving cocktails, snacks and small traditional Greek delicacies. The Ostrako restaurant is open throughout the day for lunch and dinner and the hotel's website proposes a menu 'that tiptoes among elegant seafood, traditional Mediterranean dishes, pasta and grilled plates.'
This hotel is a fabulous place for newly-weds to spend their honeymoon. It is equally suitable for small weddings as there is a private chapel nearby and a civil ceremony can be arranged. A very personal and attentive service is offered by the Tsimaras family and Harris can suggest a variety of ways to celebrate a wedding or any special occasion and the nature of the hotel means that you can have an intimate celebration enjoying all the facilities of the hotel without disturbing other guests. The hotel can even arrange for its own private speedboat to whiz some VIP guests to and from the hotel or act as an up-market taxi into Fiscardo or over to Ithaca for a few hours.
The hotel takes every precaution to preserve their guest's tranquil environment and the parking area is outside the hotel grounds to ensure that guests are not disturbed by traffic. They have their own fleet of 'buggies' which await at the entrance to the hotel's grounds and their drivers invite you to hop in for a lift up to your suite or apartment.
Although the Emelisse provides a luxurious escape, the village of Fiscardo is only a ten minute walk away and from here you can hire a motor-boat for the day or take a cruise or ferry to some of the nearby islands - Ithaca, Meganissi, Skorpios, Lefkas. There are regular ferry services to Fiscardo from Ithaca and Lefkas and so the Emelisse is easy to find and it is just over one hour's drive from Kefalonia airport. There are also ferries to the island from Kilini and Patras with good roads to Fiscardo and the Emelisse.
