Gill Tomlinson spent seven years living and working in Greece and maintains a passion for all things Greek! She has, like many Grecofiles, a love of the place that borders on the obsessive! Since training in art and design as a mature student, Gill has been producing her own brand of Greek images, which reflect her particular relationship with the place. Her spare time in Greece is now spent keeping sketchbooks which form the basis of future design work. Pantings are mostly in watercolour, pen and ink and sometimes acrylic. Favourite subjects include tavernas, fishing boats, food, architectue and village scenes.

Several of the current range were painted on Kefalonia - in Assos, Fiskardo, Argostoli and Avithos. She is particularly inspired by the quality of the light in Greece and the fantastically clear turquoise water.

Mervi loves painting the local Kefalonian countryside. She has a passion for the flora of the island and paints beautiful olive trees. She also makes artistic floral arrangements from dried flowers.

Emma Fifield is from Shooters Hill in South-East London. She is a self taught artist, specialising in acrylics on large canvases and creates many different styles including large flowers, small cartoon miniatures of the British seaside and colourful scenes from the London nightlife.

However, Emma is mostly known for her particular love of painting Corfu; she creates vivid landscapes and bold townscapes which have been very popular with holidaymakers, villa owners and locals alike.

Peter Hemming is an English artist who moved to Kefalonia in April 2001, inspired by the island's landscapes, and stayed many years exhibiting his work in Argostoli. Peter is a friendly guy and a cyber-diarist making his daily diary public on his website. We asked him what he paints and what inspires him:

Peter Hemming: I paint Kefalonia! Everything from traditional land and seascapes to ruins of the 1953 earthquake.

Never a day went by that I was not inspired by something. Kefalonia has the feeling of magical quality. The colours change with the light. Yes, the colours change as does the landscape, from Fiskardo to Skala, from Sami to Lixouri. The sea can be a creamy turquoise one minute to a deep cobalt the next, once again this depends on where you are.
Inspirational Kefalonia. How long does it take to become inspired?
Immediately. How long does it last? A lifetime.
So, if you're coming to Kefalonia for the 1st or 21st time feel the magic and like me you'll become inspired.
