Skorpios is famous because of the way its owner Aristotle Onassis transformed it from an uninhabited island, to a private paradise. He even imported soil and boasted that he could grow every kind of vegetable here.
As it is privately owned, visitors are not allowed to explore any part of the island, although a small part of its coastline has been set aside for visiting cruisers and here you may swim to the shore and relax on one of the very few privately owned beaches in Greece, although it is only a narrow strip of pebbles.
