What Has Changed In A.G. This Year

It has been some time since I was on the forum. Who is new in the resort and who has fallen foul of the Greek financial problems.

Yes it's good to see see you back on here Colin. I can't directly answer your question because the last time I was there I met up with you. I will be back next Month staying at Stevens again.

Glad you had a great time in the village, you have now scrathed the surface and got the AG bug!! Have a perfect place for you stay next year, you will love it, the owners are the kindest people I have ever met and it has the best pool in the village.

Just off the main street, go past Sebastians Taverna and just before the small supermarket there is a little lane, it's 20 yards up there on the right hand side. They have 2 studios, one overlooks a garden and our favourite is the one that overlooks the pool, nice veranda with peach and lemon trees. Also have a 5 bed apartment, stayed in them all. Dimitri will pick you up at the airport and take you back. Lost count of the number of meals Katerina has cooked for us, never asked for a penny. Went to their Daughters wedding a few years ago.

First time user of forum, Zorbas closed last year at the end of season. Andreas the owner has reopened his dads bar in Pelakas this year. Dont know if anyone took up the tenancy of this restaurant. We were in AG last year [2011] May to June for two weeks. Found lots of changes in the village. different people were staying, they were not using the bars and restaurants the same as the Brits do, many of the locals complained there takings and bookings were already down on the same time the year before. Lots of the restaurants were not opening untill 6 00 pm, unlike the first time we were there  12 years ago if you were not in the restaurant of your choice by 7 30 pm you had to line up outside and wait. We went again in October 7th [2011] for one week and some of the village was closed, starting to get AG with drawl symptoms as this is the first time we have not been to AG in 12 years. We are of to Kos for a week 13/10/2012 booked our own holiday on net so I cannot change it.
