Hi am planning to book to come to Corfu next year. I am pondering on either mid June or late June/early July - is there much difference in the weather for these two periods or am I fretting unnecessarily? Also as I am booking independently, any advice on days to arrive and depart with regard to the airport would be very much appreciated as I hear its under new management now. Has this made any difference? Sorry - a few questions in my message, but thank you very much for any advice you can give.

Hi Mabletown. Generally speaking, I'd describe the weather in the second half of June as pleasant - ie temps in the low to mid 30's, so good for swimming and sunbathing without having to run for shade after a few minutes. It gradually starts to heat up in July and whilst you can get the occasional heatwave with 40°, that doesn't usually happen until later in the month.

The busiest day at the airport always used to be Monday because that was when most of the UK package holiday companies did their change-overs. Nowadays, with the budget airlines running flights several times a week and lots more flights from other countries, it's fairly busy from Friday to Monday, so if you want to avoid the crowds a midweek flight is probably your best bet.

The new management have put in a few changes and improvements this year and I believe that more are planned for next year. The biggest change that most people have noticed is the new security area in Departures, which most agree has made the check-in hall a lot less chaotic and speeded up the process.

Where are you planning on staying?
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!

Mid June is a great time to be in Town. We always spend a few days there at that time of year at the beginning of our holiday, whilst it's still relatively cool enough to get out and about exploring, either on foot, by bus, or driving around in a hire car.

By the time July comes around and the temps are really starting to rise we're on the neighbouring island of Paxos, where the days seem to turn into an endless cycle of lie on the beach - cool off in the sea - grab a bit of shade - repeat
I wasn't lost - I was just taking an interesting detour!
