Hello Smile
I am a new poster to this forum although I have lurked for a while - have so enjoyed reading peoples diaries on their visits to Kalami.
We stayed at the A&A last year - first time visiting Corfu, we usually go to Santorini/Crete. We fancied a change and very much enjoyed A&A.
Before our holiday last year we booked another holiday to the same area!! Shocked Why I did this I dont know, but I had a good feeling about this place and that we would just love it. So, we are returning in 6 weeks time to stay at a villa between Kalami and Koulara.
What I wanted to ask is - we had dinner a few evenings at The White House and I noticed that there was a water taxi that sped over to the other side of the bay, to let people off. Can anyone tell me if there is a jetty along this side?
I know I should not be so impatient and shall find out soon enough - it is just that I have this joy of thinking that we could get a water taxi back and forth (not being lazy, honest!) and maybe into Corfu town one evening for a wander/meal.
Any views, very much appreciated :)
Smile

Hello,
There is a jetty just before the White House, there are two boats, the fast one goes to Traverna Agni, and the other to my favourite Traverna Nicholas. There is no charge for either boat, but obviously you must eat at their traverna. I would advise you to book for either establishment before you go, this can be done at one of the travel shops in Kalami. Enjoy your holiday, unfortunately we cant go this year because of a big family holiday coming up in Menorca, but we will be back next year for our Kalami fix (tenth time)

Cheshire Cat we will miss you this year then, you won't recognise the name but I am still Staffydogflynn although the website wouldn't let me back in after the big change so I had to re register. We are back 14th to 28th for a bit of a celebration, 30 years wed, big birthday, and retiring from the job on 3rd October. Maybe see you next year. Definitely agree re Nikolas.

Hi BabeOne

If I read your message properly it sounds as if you're asking if there's a water taxi from where you're going to be staying over to the White House. Unfortunately no, but then it's only a ten minute walk to the taverna from where you'll be. When we stay we like to wander over to Kaloura a few times and from the A&A it's only about 10-15 minutes and a very pleasant walk.

As already stated, there are water taxis that take you round to Agni but when we were there in May they had started charging for them, I think it's only a couple of €s but worth it. There isn't a daily water taxi to Corfu town, it's an excursion that runs a couple of times a week and can be booked in Kalami.

Hope this helps.

P.S. If you need any more reading material can I recommend my book 'Kalami, Where the Sea Shrugs its Shoulders'. It's had great reviews on this site (see Kalami Book) and has sold over 300 copies on AmazonCool

Nice to hear from you, I will be back next September at the usual time, hope to see you then. Send my regards to Eric/Dorean. Enjoy your retirement, does this mean more visits to Kalami ?? Pity if the boats are now charging to go to the tavernas, but thats life. Have a good holiday

Hi BabeOne, there are a couple of jetties in Kalami Bay and both the water taxis stop there.  As far as I remember, only the fast boat charges a couple of euro to go to Agni Taverna.  We were there in June and Yannis boat (Nicolas Taverna) does not charge although there is no harm in offering a small tip.

If you want to go to Corfu Town by boat, you can book this at any of the small travel agents in Kalami.

I think you should speak to Thassos or Daria at the White House and they will tell you what taxi service they offer.

What ever you end up doing, you will have a fab time!

Hello to Cheshire Cat, Jupiter, Sidney and Annie ....

Thank You all so very much for your replies Beer

All of what you have written here is a great help - we saw so many boats whizzing about at night; I was just trying to get an idea of what/where we could go in the evenings.

Our son has a learning disability so I always try to think ahead of what will be best for him - he will really enjoy using the taxis and I/his Dad shall too.

Sidney, I shall go search out your book - how fab is that you have written your very own book. Brilliant Clap

We are so looking forward to going back to Kalami - has felt like such a long time coming, too long.

Very best wishes, Sharon. x

I love this story whenever I read this and it bring tears in my eyes though and I would recommend you to take a look at similar stories if you like this one so follow this custom dissertation writing service where you can even learn more things about the writing and getting things more sorted though that is more behavior and lacking things on.
that felt a good time to learn more things which going to up in the same line of behavior though

If a student is not able to provide an effective and successful dissertation results chapter, it is recommended to seek for help with a dissertation results chapter from professionals.

Dissertation discussion and conclusion sometimes overlap and in some dissertations these two sections are combined in one. The results and discussion might appear as one section. If you are not sure in writing a dissertation discussion chapter, consult your supervisor or check a well-written sample.
