We're off to Roda at the beginning of September and in spite of being in our 60s! we like walking. Does anyone know any really good walks.  Also can anyone recommend a good Greek restaurant, perhaps one where the locals go.

Fabulous walks from Canal D'Amour from where I am... all the way along the cliff top to Cape Drastis.   You'd need to get the bus into Sidari first though - but worth thinking about for a change.

The rodaonline forum is no more but it a nice walk to Acharavi and beyond taking the beach road from Roda. Also nice walks to Sfakira and Nymfes taking the main beach road out of Roda and heading straight up the hill.

There are plenty of eating places in Roda where the locals eat, my favourite being Drossia

I have just been on the rodaonline site (www.rodaonline.org) so it is still very much there.  If you just fancy a short walk you can walk from Roda to Acharavi along the beach path/road and it takes about 20 mins (depending on how scorchio it is) and there are plenty of places for refreshments along the way.

regards, Kath.

There are plenty of walks from Roda. Acharavi as already been stated, Sfakera as stated. Sfakera is a favourite walk of ours through the olive groves. Our favourite is to Astrakeri, finishing up at the Three Brothers for a meal. The Three Brothers is possibly the best and most authentic Greek Taverna in the area. My opinion. I also love most of the Tavernas in Roda. There are plenty of other walks, get the local bus to somewhere and walk back to Roda. There is a book available that lists the walks on Corfu and in September the temperature should be dropping slightly. Enjoy. Bev
