Hi everyone
We are staying in Villa Stongilo half way between San Steph and Kerasia in May and just wondered how steep the road up to the villa is. Would we be able to walk up it or is it to steep or to far. We have walked between the two places before so know that we can do that. Hope someone can help. |

Hi Sue, Strongilo is not a villa I am familiar with, however as you know the area you will understand that most of the villas above and below the road have pretty steep access roads. Who have you booked through? It might be worth questioning them if it is a concern for you.
We leave for Corfu on Sunday for a month, if I get time I will have a mooch along to Kerasia and see if I can find it and update you. No promises though. Bob.

Hi Bob
We have booked the villa with CV travel it is next to Kasomitria and we were told it is about 50 metres up a steep hill, but we just thought perhaps somebody on the forum had stayed there and could let us know if it really is walkable or if we will need resucitation at the top. Lucky you going for a whole month we are so envious. Thanks anyway Sue |

Hi Sue, We are retired and have a house there near Acharavi but spend a lot of time in San Stephanos, we've been going there for over 30years.
I know where Kasomitria Villas are located, and as far as I can tell most of the villas in that area would have a short fairly steep approach up to the villa. Have a nice time. Bob

Hi Sue
I am fairly certain that Villa Strongilo shares the drive with Kerasia House where we stayed last year, it is steep but we walked up it several times. The car had to be used in first gear to get up it!!! This is a picture showing the top half of the drive Villa Strongila is on the left. Hope this helps. Andy ![]() |

Hi Andy
Ha ha cor phew (sorry Corfu) your absolutely right, some of the drives are hair raising. I know what you mean about 1st gear, we were told in Skiathos that you should knock the air con off before going up a very steep hill, but that just makes you sweat more. When we were looking on google maps we thought Strongilo must be that one because CV travel say it is next to Kasomitria which has a small tennis court, that you can just make out on google, so you have confirmed it for us. It doesnt look to bad, we have stayed in worse. Thanks for your help and your photo shows that at least the road surface is good. Thanks again Sue. |

Hi Sue,
The picture I posted shows the part of the driveway that leads up from Villa Strongillo to Kerasia House, the bottom part from the road up to Villa Strongilo is fairly straight. Villa Strongillo is what I would describe as very lush, it has plenty of the green and flowery stuff all around it's grounds and that gives it a lot of charm - the only downside is it makes the views from it a bit restricted. I was going to pm you a google earth image showing its location but the PM system isn't working. I hope you have a great time there and that the weather is gorgeous. Andy

Hi Andy
We thought it looked very green but if it is shady all the time, we will just have to catch a tan relaxing in the bars, or on a motor boat. Garry is now hoping it gets no sun on it. Thanks again Sue |

Hi Sue
Hope this is not toolate. We stayed at Strogilo a few times and can assure you it is imaculate. We have stayed in many villas in this is the cleanest. When we stayed the owner did the cleaning herself. The view from the pool was much better before the geenery took over. Don't worry about the drive it's not that bad. We're back for a week at the end of May - can't wait!

Hi John
We go on 14th May and can't wait. Thank you so much for the information it all sounds positive, it's just a shame if they let it get to overgrown although it's great to have privacy it's a shame if you can't see the view. Thanks again Sue |

Hi Sue,
I hope I did not give you the impression that the greenery was overgrown, I think it is there to provide a screen for the pool area from the road below and it is well tended. You will also have the possibility of some quite delightful neighbours during your stay |

No I didn't think you meant it was overgrown I was just saying its a shame when that happens because when we stayed in Paxos last year that very thing had.
Are you there at the same time as us and counting down the days Sue |

Oh they are beautiful I love holiday cats and I have to own up to buying cat food whenever we are on holiday in the hope that I can get close to them. We will only be there for a week but if you are there at the same time we are sure to meet.
