What is the best way to get between the airport and Kassiopi? There are 4 of us plus luggage (3 cases) arriving and departing in the afternoon, 29 June / 13 July. I've been quoted 130 euros for a taxi (seems expensive) or £109 for a shuttle bus. We would be happy to hire a car and drive if I could leave it at Kassiopi.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
You could check out this site
I think a lot of people on here have used them at some time or other.
Also I have booked a taxi quite a few times with a guy called Christos from the airport to Kassiopi and last time was 50 euros 1 way which was about average, it may have gone up but I wouldnt have thought too much. I wouldnt have thought 130 euros was too much we were payin 100.00 2010 which was about average better than getting bus as could take longer if other drop offs.
You could if you wanted just call Christos and get a quote or return quote. His number is 0030 69322606320. Not sure about hiring to get there then letting them pick up the car could be expensive unless you hire for your holiday and then drive it back to the airport on your departure.
Hope this helps a bit enjoy your Holiday.

Agree that sounds expensive but you won't find cheaper. The best way really is to pick up a hire car at the airport. The drive is not too difficult and then you have it for the week. Recommend Value Plus - Yanis meets you at the airport and is very helpful. The website address is: http://www.corfucarrentals.com/

Hi,
I have just checked Travel Republic. The cost for the four of you is £69.04 on a shuttle bus. They use Lord Travel in Corfu and we have used this service a lot to Kassiopi and Paleokastritsa. We have always received good service. Hope this helps. Kind Regards Tom and Marion

Hi another option might be to contact Vera and Mike at Cosmic travel - they will either organise a hire car or a transfer.

Should have said that Cosmic hire Value Plus cars - Yannis and/or his staff have the car ready in the car park at the airport and wait outside of arrivals to show you over to where it is and do the paperwork. We usually pay Mike at the office in Kassiopi so it might be worth a call or email to Cosmic if you were interested

I also have the same problem with transfer to and from our hotel. As there are five of us this time (plus 4 suitcases) I looked at Travel Republic. The destination I need is Dassia but they do not say whereabouts in Dassia they drop you off. Would they drop you at your hotel if you asked, or just at a certain point in the village?
As our hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, I would not like to have to walk from the bottom with 2 young children and four suitcases especially at around 11 pm!!

Hi Pam Ella,
When you book with Travel Republic they ask within their booking process the name of your hotel/apartment etc. The bus we were on to Kassiopi dropped people off at their hotel in Dassia and not on the main road. Lord Travel look after you and they have their own buses. Their desk is just outside the arrivals doors where the reps stand. The staff all seem to be British so you can ask them to ensure you are dropped off at your front door if a bus can get there. We have used them many times and have always received a good service. We have already booked for June this year. Kind Regards Tom and Marion |

Good morning Houndman.
Many thanks for your information regarding transfers. I will certainly look into the Travel Republic site and hopefully, they will drop us off at the hotel.
Many thanks.

Hi,
The cheapest we found was http://www.airporttransfers.co.uk/ - we paid about £70 each way last year for six of us in a private mini bus. It was a bit of a ramshackle vehicle but the driver was waiting for us with a sign and it was all fairly hassle free. Mad drive with blaring music at 5am up to Kassiopi which made us all laugh. I think it is cheaper if you don't have it to yourself, from what I remember about half. A word of warning though, the bus was late picking us up at 3am for our return journey. We had to make a phone call and eventually the driver turned up looking like had just rolled out of bed - saying there was traffic in Sidari !!! He then stopped at the village square to have a wash down - seemed a nightmare at the time but we have laughed about it since ! Some people we stayed with used Fulvia Travel, who charge about 100 E each way for private transfer, they have a smart looking bus !!

That sounds a bargain Bob ... they quoted us E100 e/w but maybe that is because it was in August.
Will try again next time we need one.

Thats not a hard thing to do in Corfu. Once had to bang on the window of a bus in Sidari to wake the driver, so we could get back to Kassiopi. Davyboy.
