I am looking forward to my visit in June & my stay at The Coral Hotel, and was wondering if there is plenty of shops & restuarants.
Does the beach have sunbeds to hire?

Hi Hugeabbafan, the site above is a good website for information on Roda. Also in answer to other forum requests people have listed their favourite places to eat and drink. As you are at the Coral you are in a very good position. As you enter Roda you will pass a few Tavernas, of which my absolute favourite is the the Five Roses. There are a number of shops, the one we like for souvenirs is Lena's on the old road near the Church. There is a new one called Penelopi in the new block across from the Afrodite, which we will be trying. If you turn right from the Coral you head towards Acharavi and there are some very nice Tavernas along the beach. Our favourite for a walk and a meze is Foros, just before you turn up the road to Acharavi. There are plenty of sunbeds/parasols for hire on the beach at Roda and very reasonably priced. Hope this helps. Bev

Hi Hugeabbafan,
We have stayed at the Coral and it was very nice, it is right on the beach although I would recommend turning left and walking along the beach and you will find several people selling sunbeds. Andreas does them and he also does pedalos if you like that sort of thing. Shops are numerous, all types. You could also go to the nearest town of Acharavi and there are a lot more shops although it is a 40 minute walk each way, there is a bus though which you would take. If you want a good meal out, turn left out of the hotel and walk along past the Harbour Bar on your right and at the end of the next block, look out for blue and white check tablecloths, that is the New Port. You can eat your meal while looking at the ocean with the sun setting in the distance, it is very scenic and I would definitely recommend the food in there. I have eaten hundreds of meals there and have never had a bad one. Hope the information helps. Regards, Pegasus. P.S. My favourite record was 'Eagle'. |
