You will have a wonderful time, my last visit was in October when I stayed at the Kaloudis apartments.
The price of a large glass of beer was 2.50 Euros at most places and the food differed depending
on if you wanted their daily special or something from the menu. The daily specials were about
9 Euros and so yummy.

You can pass your days by lazing round the pool (you can use any pool as long as you dont take
your own food which is understandable), you could laze on the beach, you could go on a leisurely walk to to Afionis which is the village to the left it is beautiful, you must go there and sit in one of the bars/restaurants. The village to the right is San Stefanos which is also beautiful.

In the evening you must sit in one of the bars on the beach and watch the sunset it is spectacular.

There really is no nicer place

We got quite a good deal, well I think we did, and are staying at some apartments so I dont know if there will be tour operators selling things? as although we bought a package deal when I looked at our costing, its through different tour operators such as Hays Travel and Thomas Cook. 

We are staying in a 2 bed apartment called Makris. There weren't many reviews but since we are travelling in the summer holidays and when I checked online the flights to Corfu would have cost more than the whole holiday itself! so just fingers crossed apartments are nice.  There are only 2 of us but that was the last apartment they had so they gave us a discounted 2 bedroom.

The Makris is on the quieter back road, only a short walk to the beach and restaurants etc. It has a lovely pool and pool bar, nice views towards the sea and with olive groves behind.
There's a good fish restaurant on the walk to the beach called Vavilas.

It is a "Virtual" tour of the entire resort. This will give you a really good idea of where you are going. If you go to the "Left End" of the tour, spin to the right and click to go to "Bardis Sun", then click to go a little further to "Giannis", Makris is a little further along this road - but the tour ends here so you can't quite get that far.

Welcome to the site Hannah, we didnt stay in Arillas, but very much enjoyed a visit there. We used a lovely taverna opposite a supermarket at the junction at the top end of the road that leads to the beach, called the Amourada we had a superb fish platter plus a couple of mezes a salad and drinks for about 20e. Was in 2007 so will probably be a bit more now but still amazing value for a lovely meal. A car will be a must as the bus service will not be frequent enough or run late enough to be of much use for sight seeing. Would suggest a trip to Paleokastritsa, its so pretty and has many good tavernas. The Achellion is a must, which can take in a trip to the lovely villages of Pelekas and Sinarades, as is a visit to Corfu town to stroll around (or get lost) in the campiello, enjoy coffee at the Liston and lunch on real Corfiot food at Rouvas taverna (near M&S) plus the two forts and museums. And thats just for starters. Loads to see and do and lots of great tavernas to discover. Am certain you'll both have a great time, and if you need suggestions for tavernas further afield I'm certain there will be no shortage of good advice.
