Unfortunately the second man from the right in this video, Ruud Merx, died yesterday from a major heart attack at the age of 47 after being in hospital for a few days. Was lucky enough to go to Maastricht in July and see all of them all perform. They cancelled all performances in the UK in respect of him whilst he was in hospital. The whole Andre Rieu Orchestra is a big family. There are 13 couples in the Johann Strauss Orchestra.
If you ever have a chance to go and see them, I would highly recommend it. They brought classical music to the masses and made it fun. |

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all our forum members. I have been Very Good this year (not to get my Bonus from Santa) but in other ways. I completed almost all my Christmas shopping in very good time. Today there were just 2 items left, a loaf of fresh bread and a lottery ticket for tonight. If my numbers come up I will be very lucky, if not BAH HUMBUG !!!.
