We will be staying in the Corfu Imperial (Komeno Bay) next year to celebrate a significant anniversary and hope to visit a number of the bays and villages we explored by scooter on our honeymoon a lot of years ago.

The plan is to rent a boat, and cruise at a comfortable speed up to Agni for lunch and on to Ag Stephanos/Kerasia before returning to base.  Can anyone, especially residents, give me an idea of the cruising times required.

Many thanks
Broadsman

Have hired 30hp and 250hp speedboats in the last few years and. If you opt for something 30hp or similar then Agios Stephanos should take about an hour from where you are. The 250hp will get you there in less than 20 minutes, though you will need a boat licence to be able to hire one this powerful.

Some hirers have restrictions on where you can take boats so you will need to check this out, for instance if a boat is hired from Kalami, then the Southerly limit is Barbati.

I would think around 45 minutes in a 30hp but you may well be restricted in the distance you can travel so check this first.
Beside the sea all worries wash away!!

Many thanks for the information.  Many years of experience with our own boat, but no formal power boat qualification, so we will be limited to 30HP.   However, an hour is easily do-able if it is within the range limits set by the hire company.

    Happy holidays to all.

Hi Broadsman

The distance from Komeno Bay to Stephanos is about 8 nautical miles; as others have said, your major restriction is likely to be the cruising area allowed by the hire company (and insurance) as you will be, as I'm sure you know) quite a way offshore by local boat standards going be the direct route! Great views though.
