Same for me I'm afraid. Can't find any interest in chat rooms. When I chat I prefere to chat face to face with someone.
Can I reverse this and ask a question Brian? Can you explain what it is that you like about chat rooms?

The fact Ime not talking 1 2 1 and the people who use it find Corfu as interesting as me and live in various parts of the UK  but still find the time to express their interest in the island and Greece in general

Well I quite enjoy the chat room, however I have so little spare time  I rarely find time to join in. I agree though Brian,  that a 'who is chatting' list would be helpful - so I'll add it to the ToDo list.

I tend to be the same as Graham, prefer face to face, I've never tried the Chat Room but then again maybe I should, there's no harm of trying & maybe one day I will & see if it changes my mind! x

Personally, I find little time for the chatroom as I'm busy doing other things.  Moreover, this usually coincides with the time that most people are on the site, such as  in the evenings. Hey-ho.

I've only occasionally used the chat room although when I have I've quite enjoyed it. My own preference is to view a list of who is in it as there are  people who I would probably prefer to avoid. Present company excepted of course!!! Wink  Evil Smile

I only enjoy the agni chatroom - would never go in any others (tried them and didn't like them).  But with our chatroom you are either chatting with old friends or new ones.  We also have a good laugh.
It would be great to have a visible list - so thanks for adding it to your list Nathan - it would make it soooo much easier to avoid Brian ..... at the moment I have to sit behind the door and nip out when he comes in LOL

Only joking Bri you know I loves ya really Hug

Just a thought, maybe the people who have used chat rooms in thepast have had bad experiences and not even taken the time to look into the Agni chatroom ...... We wont biteHug
(well Jaybird cant shes got false teeth.)
AND perhaps  we could discuss the poblems we seem to come up againstSmile.
I can remeber when we had up to 30 people in there it did get a bit difficult to follow sometimes but I really believe that over the last 7 years we did help first timers to Corfu find the tavernas, kafeneons, even shopping areas that we all knew where good ..wether it was north, soutn, east or west on the island the positives and the negatives.
So please take a look even once its usually busiest after 9 oclock
PM that is Hug

I'm working on a 'who is chatting' thingy. While testing, it will show at the bottom of the main forum page. (Not working , for some reason, at the moment though!)

Hi Chris -  I know what you mean about gundogs and time (we have two, a Golden Retriever and a Cocker Spaniel).  At the moment I'm working on stopping the Cocker from chasing hares.  It was all going so well until about half way through the season when, during a drive (on recall and a only a few yards out) he ran over the top of a hare laying in it's scrape - I didn't think he could turn so quickly!!

The next thing, as he disappeared out of sight, was a call from the keeper (who bred the dog) saying that they were making a book and it was 100-1 on the hare getting away, but the dog wasn't giving upEmbarrassed.

So, yes, these dogs do take huge amounts of time, all of which keeps me away from the boards.

Martyn

PS - Exactly what breed is Gemma?  She looks like a Flatcoat, but without scale, it's difficult to tell.

Hi ya...Martyn. She is a what is called a field spaniel..(they are one of the top five rare dogs of last year) with only 45 pups being registered....(five years I have at to wate on awateing  list from a breeder to get hold of a black field bitch. A far out cry from what the papers made of the setters, I would go on to say they are one of the hardest of gun dogs to train being a bit like a tank compaire to springers...But good at flushing...The fieldy as they call it is flat coated....As big as a springer and has a bit of weight to them of arounds 19 kilos for a bitch and more so for the dog.

My other two gun dogs is a golden retriver of 11 years old (Cindy) (no longer hunting and Ella a cocker (her home name is Peggy ....cant call her Peggy when I'm on a beat (lol) so I use Ella that means come in Greek...

All three of my dogs will recall ...One will stop them in there tracks and two will have them running back to me...Hopefully....

Peggy last year while turning  her vertabraes 4.5. slipped and that...was turning to fast...Its all very well seeing your dog do fast turns like they do but untill some thing goes wrong. The bill for Peggy was over 1400 pounds.

Not meany dogs can catch a hair unless you have lerchers  grayhounds or wipets.....

My other two reperbates Cindy and Peggy (or Ella)

The two together as you will see gemma is bigger than the cocker gemma is only 9 months old still has some more room to grow....gemma does have a tail  being a member of a gun club i could have taken it of peggys tail is crop...as gemma will only be doing open ground i did not think it was worth it...
