Hi, we're staying in Nissaki for two weeks in August and was wondering if restaurants are taking credit cards or is it cash only?
Also I believe there is one ATM in Nissaki, so was wondering if it would be working or we would have to travel to Ipsos or Corfu Town?

Thanks
Paul

Things are improving on the island about restocking ATM's. I feel that Euro's are the preferred method of payment until things settle down. You can get around €1.40 to the pound in many locations in the UK at the moment. It could go up but on the other hand could go down. Confused

Rarely have problem at ATMs- occasionally the high season rush empties one at weekend, but it is quickly refilled.
Tavernas normally prefer cash, although an increasing amount do take cards.

Paul the ATM in Nissaki is at Aphrodite's supermarket, I've also heard but don't know if it's true that there is one in Barbati near the Lord Byron. Let us know if that's true.

Just be aware of the 'private' ATM's that have sprung up- not for security reasons but I mistrust their commission etc compared with those installed by banks.

Jan,
As far as I am aware these private ones should show if there is a charge for using them. We avoid them like the plague as we have no charges at all withdrawing via our debit card from a UK bank.
