Restaurant and bar prices are liable similar to last year. Food prices in supermarkets will be higher.

Prices can vary, depending where you stay on the island, but generally speaking great value. Prices for eating out are very reasonable. We were paying around 50/60 euro for a two course meal for two, including a half carafe of wine and a couple of beers. This was in Sidari. Prices have barely changed in the last few years. Alcohol has increased because there have been massive tax hikes in the last couple of years. The exchange rate is also the best it's been in years. Have a great time. Moyra

To be honest, it's pretty much like the UK. Normal meals are generally much cheaper but if you go for the higher quality restaurants you will pay more. Not saying the food is better in those though.
We are in the NW and can easily have a meal for two with a litre carafe of wine for under 30€, good Greek food too. |

Got to agree with you Elliemay. We normally stay in Paleokastritsa and very rarely pay more than 30 euro for a meal for two with a litre of wine. Our favourite place gives you a meze, home baked rolls and desert included in the above price.
All top quality food but won't tell you where, as we might not get a table. |

30 Euro for two in a local taverna sounds OK to me also. I would say add an extra 20 Euro for a higher quality restaurant but you are often paying for the location rather than the food.

Hi all, apologies - hubby just pointed out 60 euro was for 4, not 2! However, the result remains the same - great value! Have a wonderful holiday. Moyra

We normally pay around 30 euro for two, same as most but if we eat Red Snapper and King Prawns it will, of course, be almost double that. It is difficult to compare when the menus are not the same.

King prawns (six mini lobsters size) and a sea bream, not red snapper would put my bill up to 36 euros in our favourite place.
Will be having them again in four weeks time ![]() |

Just been to town and had an ouzo mezze at The Gondola and it was €3.00 euros today and 3.40 last year. We were told at the Kafenion in Liapades that 13% vat was now 18%. It meant that electricity and something else which we can't remember had gone up. The old Olympia on the Liston which closed last year is now an Italian and the inside is quite modern, shame. Weather glorious, almost too hot!!!
