We've been coming to Corfu for well over 20 years, but never in October. This year we have the chance of coming then and will be staying somewhere on our beloved North East coast. Can somebody please let me know what facilities are open then - tavernas, supermarkets and so on. Also, general idea of what the weather is usually like. Very many thanks.

Have often found weather to be better in October then September- but things are so crazy now that I wouldn't like to prophesy!
Yes, things will be closing up gradually, and the days getting shorter too.  Need more of a mixture of clothes (layers to put on and peel off).

You could try the Arillas beer festival which is being held from the 7th to 11th, although we've not yet been ourselves, we have been told it's a lot of fun for everyone.

North East Coast will still be up and running, tavernas seem to close one by one, not all at once. Supermarkets still open, after all, the locals have to eat.
A lot depends where you plan to be staying.

We normally go the first week in October. Everythings a bit quieter, not many people around which we prefer, our experience weather wise has been that its around 25-27 degrees through the day but a lot cooler at night. The last 3 times we've been its only rained badly last year when it rained 3 straight days and nights out of 7 but we werent bothered by it as its fairly normal that time of year, we've been lucky up until then.

I would expect around half of the businesses to have closed but it depends on each resort and how busy they are, if they have a quiet few days they sometimes decide they've had enough for one season and pack up lol. We've never been unable to find anything we needed. The latest I would go would be up to the 2nd week as I dont know many places that would still be open beyond that point.

Hope this helps x

The Greeks eat out all year around. It is just knowing where is open. On the NE coast in October you have Roumeli just above Nissaki which is normally open all year. Vitamins again in the same area is usually open fairly late. Also Tavernaki in Kassiopi. I am more likely to know places in the NW as that is where we are, however am sure someone from the NE can advise you better.
