Hi. No real reason for posting other than I was feeling a wee bit sorry for Sidari. It's had no visitors for over a fortnight! Poor Sidari. It's the place that started our love affair with Corfu in 1988/89. Still love the place. Sure it's changed a lot and become more built up (although the monstrosity on the hillside HAS started to blend in), but the people remain the same kind, generous people we became friends with all those years ago and are still friends with. Some people are put off by stories about "the strip", which is actually only about 50 metres at the far end of the main street, believe me - Vegas it ain't! There's absolutely no reason to set foot on "the strip" if you don't want to - we don't. There are more than enough quiet little bars/tavernas/restaurants where you can while away an evening. Alcohol has certainly increased in price, but that's because of massive tax increases. The cost of eating out has barely changed in the last 5 years. Lovely walks. It's nice and flat for wheelchairs and buggies. Taxis are cheap and plentiful if you want to go a little further afield - Avliotes/Peroulades/Sunset  Beach/Velonades/Magoulades/Arillas/San Stefanos NW are all nearby. All tastes in food are catered for Greek/English/Chinese/Mexican/Italian/Indian etc. If you DO want entertainment, then "the strip" is there, with tribute acts/bingo/pub quizzes/live music etc. Move out in any direction from the centre and you discover little hidden gems. Truly a place with something for everyone if you take the trouble to look - and see past the hype.

We stay in Kassiopi but always go to Sidari at least twice every year for days out, love the place but don't think I could stay there. But next year I will have to stride the strip out 50 metres
Keep taking your, take a holiday in kassiopi pills.

I walk the strip once and just say no thanks at least 15 times and then I avoid it and walk along the beach or on the back road.
3 weeks to go till Paradise.
