Now listed on Thomsons.  B&B is the standard option with optional half or full board.

Just had a peek. Mentions 'Sea Breeze beach bar' so guess this is the winter project (located where the current car park is I presume).

Sounds like it Sue.  It also says air con and free wifi in all rooms and suites.

They will have a busy winter. The team managed to turn around the Melina Bay very quickly so hopefully they manage it again.

They've got a lot of work to do thats for sure.

The description on the Thomson site isn't good either and the prices seem a little expensive to me.

I don't think it will because most guests are returnees and part of the reason for going is eating out. I think most people will choose B&B, however I do think there will be a shift to people booking independently and looking at other accommodation in the village as the price differential is reduced.

What you may see over time is more holiday lets being built.

Just my thoughts.

I hope you're right Werangels, I really do, but it could attract a different mix of clients. Only time will tell.
One thing is guaranteed and that is that we will eat out at the other 3 restaurants come what may.

Didn't spot that, interesting. We always hire a car for the duration. Where will all these cars park without a car park I wonder?

Have also now found it on the the Thomas Cook web site. It is coming up cheaper but I couldn't get the exact dates and I see that there is no "free" car hire and you get 5kgs less baggage allowance. Still looks lovely though! We won't be going again I don't think, we have found it quite pricey for accommodation. This year we went over to the "other side" and tried Skiathos, am now looking to book again for next year, sorry Kalami.

Hi

Just Lesley and Phil just returned, nice to see Ollie and Sarah on site!  I have just looked at Thompson for next year.  Looks good but can't book taxi transfer now with Thomson which we like unless I have missed something.  Any ideas anyone?

Lesley
Be happy always!

Taxi booked locally approx 50-60 euro each way. Am sure Gina will have some numbers if you email her nearer the time.

Just back yesterday from A & A - great holiday as always - but all staff seem unsure what next season may hold for them.
Lots of negative comments and general unease about all the changes.
Major work to be done over the winter if they are to turn the apartments into the Thomsons description of the new named hotel.
Rumour has it all the kitchens in every rooms are to be taken out, as well as new restuarant to be built!
It seems such a shame to change - we all agree the apartments need a major update - so let's see what happens in the winter.
After reading the Thomsons description of the new hotel - how do they get away with writing a completley different description of a place we all know so well?
Be very interesting to see if they actually finish the planned work.

I can no longer find it on Thomas Cook site. Have tried June, July and August from any airport. Can anyone else find it on TC?

Hi Elliemay, yes I am using the new name, or just any holiday in Kalami but it shows nothing. I did see it on TC a week or so ago but can't find it now. I can find it on Thomsons.

Hi Dingojunction,
Yes it is very odd. As I said, when comparing the two travel agents a week or so ago the main differences I noticed were Thomson had free car hire but TC did not. As far as I can recall the prices seemed similar but I am not certain on this point. Both were flying from my nearest airport (Newcastle) and both were showing rooms available. Now I can't see any reference to it at all in TC's online web site (using many different search parameters as I mentioned before - even just asking for all accommodation in the resort) or in their online brochures. I find it most odd. I might try to find an email address or online chat contact at TC to see why I can't find it - after all if you can't find it you can't book it! (That was difficult, so I have just posted a query on their Facebook page - will update you all when they provide a link to the correct page on their website)
