Hi ladies and gents

For the past 8 years we have visited Agios Gordios but there is a desire to try something different. So, I need your advice.

I've been to Sidari and Kavos when I was younger and I'm not interested in going back. We liked Agios Gordios because it was somewhere inbetween the traditional/commercialised.

So...there are likely two pensioners, two forty something's, a fifty something a thirty something, a 13 year old, a nine year old and a four year old.

For the 50 and one forty something with the 13 and 9 year old possibly a villa with a pool close to a quiet resort. The rest would be content with a couple of apartments in that resort.

Can you help with resorts first of all please? I only know the resorts I have been to. Im thinking the North but open to any suggestions.

To the floor...

From my own experience, you should find what you are looking for in and around Kassiopi. It itself is not a quiet resort as such but nearby Kalami fits that description. There should be something to suit all your requirements in this area...villas, apartments etc

Agree Kassiopi or Kalami.  You will find lots of accommodation choice in Kalami.  Have a look at Kalami travel and Sunshine travel as well as owners direct.

Think I would still go with Sidari for the youngsters.

Arillas every time, similar to Agios Gordios, possibly a little quieter and so so beautiful.

Kalami all the way. Quiet enough for relaxation but with a choice of tavernas. Everyone, particularly the
youngsters, will enjoy the evening boat trips round to Agni for dinner. A couple of lively bars if you want to stay out until the small hours but otherwise a family destination. You do not mention which month but presume during school holidays when Kassiopi can be busy.

Agree with Werangels. We first visited Kalami when our boys were 3 and 8 which was 14 years ago. The evenings spent in a taverna on the beach with the boys skimming stones are a special memory.  They still love "come again Kalami" but tend to join us for a week at a time now but it is a  special 2nd home for all of us.

My sister had her heart set on Kalami so Kalami it is. Accommodation all booked and we've taken a chance that flights are on the right days :)

Hi Sue,
Wish I had found this forum before I booked for Corfu. I am celebrating my 60th and am travelling with a group of 10 girlfriends. We are going for the first week in June, I booked Villa Nikolas in Agni Bay as it had twin bedrooms which suits us and also for the lovely views and the sea for swimming and the tavernas on the beach, but I am a bit worried now that it will be too isolated. We won't hire cars, we like our vino with our meals in the evening and will probably have a couple of glasses at lunchtime and wouldn't want to drive.
I wanted to book somewhere for dinner one of the evenings preferably with some Greek music to celebrate my birthday, I did see that Tavernas Nicolas has George a Bazooki Player, do you happen to know if he plays some nights or every night. I am trying to keep the cost for the meal a bit reasonable as I am paying for the villa, is there anywhere else you would suggest. Do you know anything about the cost of taxis from Agni to the nearest town/supermarket. Would it be Kalami or Kassiopi?
I was in Corfu last Easter but stayed in Corfu town as it was off season and we visited Kassiopi for the day, it was the first time I had been in that part of Corfu. I recommended the Hotel Melina in Kassiopi to friends who went in June, it was being renovated while I was there last April but I just thought the setting was lovely and the hotel looked very nice, they absolutely loved it. I previously went as a 21 year old to Benitses before it became commercialised, fell in love with Greece then! I have been back to different parts of Greece a few times since then. I have about a hundred questions!  Do you know of any taxi company that would have a large minibus we could phone when there to bring us out at night time. Do you think that any of the tavernas (I believe they have water taxis) would bring us from Agni to Kassiopi or Kalami (I know its usually the other way around), we will of course eat in the tavernas in Agni too. I am so excited!!  Annemarie

Dont worry Annemarie you will be fine. Although I dont know the exact location of your Villa you have x3 good tavernas in Agni and Nikolas has its Greek night every Thursday (probably the best in the area). You can also walk to Kalami in 20 minutes (although not recommended after dark).
Agni is served by Dino and his water taxi which covers the area up to and including Kassiopi until late in the evenings.
You could also contact Aphrodite's (Nissaki) who can deliver provisions to your villa before you arrive. She also now delivers home made Pizza and her Ttatsiki and Humous is also home made and excellent.

Sue, thanks so much for replying.  Thats great to know about Aphrodite's in Nisssaki, I will definitely contact them.  Good to know too that Dino and the water taxi can take us to Kassiopi and the nearby area.  Have you any idea what he charges.  So we could probably get his water taxi to Kassiopi or Kalami and bring back provisions if we need to.  You have put my mind at rest, I love to just chill get some sun and swim but one or two of the ladies are looking to do some sightseeing and would be bored for the week just at the pool or beach so I want to have some options for them.  If you think of anything else or if anyone reading this post has any recommendations I would much appreciate it.  Thanks so much.  Annemarie

They could book a boat trip to Corfu Town for a day out, check with the tourist shop for details.

Yes you should definately schedule a day or night trip to Corfu Town (by boat). You will have about 3-4 hours to wander around.
Check out http://www.dailycruisescorfu.com/
There was also a service from Agni and suggest you contact Agniboats or Taverna Agni for more info. (or if you have booked through Agni Travel they will be able to advise you)
Sorry cannot advise on Dino's prices but he also provides a taxi service to Corfu Town.
Kalami is walking distance and the supermarket may even deliver provisions back to you Villa for you.

Hi Anne marie, we have used Dino for day trips to Corfu town in the past, this June he was charging 20 euros per person from Agios Stefanos to Corfu Town, not sure how much he charges for trips to Agni in the evening.
