Hi, does anybody have info on the Kamari apartments in Acharavi, I am about to book for 2 weeks in August and from researching reviews etc it seems that there is 2 pools, is this correct and also one post mentioned a slide but it was an old post. Does anyone know if this is the case as my twin boys would really like to know and just views in general on these apartments. We will be newbies to Acharavi but have stayed in Sidari a few years ago, decided to give Greece a try this year as we have been to Turkey for the last 3 years but need a break from the hassle this year. Any info, greatly appreciated. ThanksQuestion

Hi Twinsmummy,
We have been going to Kamari for about 6 years now so any questions you have just ask. Yes they do have a slide but its at the deep end of the pool so depends how the kids are with swimming. The pool is quite large and has a seperate toddlers area divided from the large pool. Five minute stroll to the beach, turn left and you can walk to Roda and right takes you along to all the bars/tavernas. Great place for kids, enjoy your holidays we are going 24th June for two weeks and then maybe again late August/September!! Cant wait..julesxxHeart

Hi Jules, Thankyou for your reply. Another thing I read from the reviews mentioned that some apartments had shared balconies, is this the case, because if I'm honest I would prefer to have the privacy of our own balcony as is the case on EVERY other holiday we have been on.
Also the rooms have TV'S AND DVD'S but do they work and can you get English speaking channels (someone posted NO to both of these) Thanks againEmbarrassed

Hi Twinsmummy, the answer is no shared balconies or even shared terraces come to that. All downstairs rooms are mostly doubles and have a terrace with table chairs and most of the upstairs rooms are singles with a balcony. All of the family apartments are upstairs as well. I agree I wouldnt like shared balcony at all. The TV's and DVD's all work but mostly Greek channels but we still usually get Sky news. How old are your children?..julesxx

Thanks again, My twin boys are 14 years old. From your past experiences here do teenagers go to these apartments, with parents of course. I have a few more years before they will be going off by theirselves to the likes of Kavos and Falaraki. When was the last time you stayed at Kamari?

We go every year, last time was in June. Yes there should be others of that age at the same time, there is a pool table and I think a playstation at the pool bar so enough to keep them occupied. My kids are past the age to holiday with the oldies (18 and 21) but loved it when they were younger. Im sure you will have a lovely time..julesxx

Hi Jules, do Kamari let you get a late checkout as the flight does not leave until 5am or do you have any other suggestions. This is actually the worst flight times I have ever had since taking the boys away, but its the only option going from Stansted on the dates I need. Thanks Angela

I cant say about the late check out, but usually they will sort something out if you ask I have never seen people roomless and waiting to depart. The only problem is if someone else is going into your room but usually Eva will sort out another room where you can all get showered and changed. Hope this helps!! julesxx

Hi Jules (again)  Kamari sound great, but could you tell me if Acharavi has any kind of entertainment in the bars or restaurants in the evenings. I remember Sidari had lots of tribute acts when we went and wondered if Acharavi did the same as I am a little worried that it may be a bit quiet for my boys. We always eat out every night but wondered if there was anything to do after that. Thanks again.

Hmm now I think you may be dissapointed in that Acharavi is a bit more laid back than Sidari, I have never seen a tribute act in Acharavi but then as its not my thing I havent looked for any. You do get Greek nights at some places and the bars are open late but not the same at all as Sidari and the main strip, it hasnt got the bright light loud music factor of Sidari. Its difficult when you have kids of that age!!! Nothing worse that bored teenagers although mine were always happy with Acharavi and after eating out we would wander around the shops or go back and sit at the Kamari bar. Its very close to Roda so maybe you could ask a question in the Roda forum if anyone knows of any bars that do entertainment, its literally a ten minute walk from Kamari..julesxx

Hi, I have just booked 2 weeks at Kamari leaving on 10th August.  Haven't been to Corfu for years, have been going to Zante for a while, just needed a change.  We also have rubbish flight times, does anyone know of an email address for Kamari?

Thanks

Thanks Jules, are there many cashpoints in Acharavi?  Do you know how much the air con was last year?  I'm sure I will think of plenty more things to ask, LOL  Cheers

Yes plenty of cashpoints around and sorry cant remember the price of aircon as we dont use it (noise of it switching on drives me round the bend and then wake up freezing cold) but I will certianly ask Eva when she is online. We take one of those clip on fans and find that fine for keeping the room cooler at night. julesxx

Hi there we are going to the Kamari again this year from the 17th August for 2 weeks, really friendly place nice shower rooms, tiny cooking area if you use them unless you have a family room which gives a bit more room, think the aircon is between 5 to 6 euro a day so about 70 euro for 2 weeks. Theres also a safe in each room at about 20 euro for 2 weeks.  They're very helpful if you want dropping off locally as they occassionly give people a free ride to Roda etc. They also have details and can book you a car hire or even go to exchange money at the bank for you. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for that, we don't tend to do any cooking whilst away, so we should be OK with the cooking area.  Getting excited now Tongue
