Morning All
Has anyone been to the new taverna, Alegria, in Acharavi yet?
If so, what was your experience, what kind of food do they serve etc?
Thanks
GJJW

Hopefully we plan to visit there again next week sometime. They opened in a blaze of glory, I'm concerned that the place will go off the boil so to speak when the tourist rush commences, we'll have to see, although Aaron is used to pressure and should cope well.

Already mentioned in another of my posts, but to repeat.
Its at the Roda end of town, dead opposite Rizos hardware store. On the same side of the road as Mahimaris Bakery, and the blue grill room, keep going to the end of the block and you are there.

Easily done Barrie, if you can't visualise something its difficult to retain the memory.

Due to a bereavement Alegria is closed at the moment.
I will post as soon as it is known when it will reopen.

We were in there the night previously Maggie, just us and a couple of other tables, but we were told by owners of another bar that it was becoming a late night place for staff of other outlets to eat and meet up with friends, the times suggested were well past our bedtime.
By the way, the feed we had was excellent.

Been back twice now since the last report. Excellent meal and service, still not what you would call busy, but nowhere is yet.

A bit of a task, but here are a few of the ones we liked.
Chicken liver wrapped in bacon, potato croquets stuffed with cheese, chickpea croquets, spicy beef in sauce, little pieces of pork, chicken wings, stuffed vine leaves, pickled octopus.
There are 3 or 4 pages on the menu, so plenty to choose from. We have found that if everyone chooses 2 dishes plus a plate of chips per two people and a salad is about right for us.
