See what you mean? All that keeps coming up is ALL SOLD OUT! They'd be stupid to pull out of there if that's what they've done because it's a little gold mine. Perhaps they haven't allocated yet but does look suspicious?Confused

I have noticed other comments on the internet that Thomson have dropped the A&A but if so there is no indication if another company has taken on the A&A for next year. Maybe someone staying at the Adonis apartments could ask what is happening in 2015.

My understanding is that the 'dropping' is the other way around!  You may find it available with Thomas Cook and/or Olympic when they release 2015.  Out of interest, where have you seen other comments?

Stavros is trying to become self reliant with the internet with bookings for the A&A. Same story for the new Melina Bay hotel in Kassiopi that he has just refurbished. Let's face it  the resort sells itself Big smile
Like many young and switched on Greek businessmen the lure of the travel companies and their ridiculously low commission has begun to lose the attraction.
Thomson [Tui] started the ball rolling a few years ago by pulling out of Kassiopi, there was a brief panic by apartment owners but all have since been self advertising and things are looking up for them, they even have money for refurbishments, something that the travel companies didn't allow for AngryClap

A quick google search shows that tripadvisor has removed comments about this, I think it is very early to say TUI and A&A have parted company... But on saying that the money that complexs get all over the world via travel companies is small, but I guess I am a party to that as I book the holidays.

I love A&A either way and happy to book with them in future with or without TUI.

A&A will become half board from next year & booked direct. The current bar will become the restaurant & a new bar to be built on the seafront in the car park area alongside Kalami Beach taverna. Mixed reactions but it will surely mean a drop in customers to the tavernas in the village.

Thomson confirmed on a post on their Facebook page a couple of days ago that they will no longer be offering A&A after 2014. I only happened to come across it when someone else asked why they couldn't find it for next year.

There has always been talk of a restuarant built on the parking space on the beach and they were going to have a pull in bar on the top of the road, but nothing has been built!
They were also going to have another lift built too!!
And air con in every room!! Bless them- that's why we love them!!

I hope it all works out for them as maybe they have realised they are doing a lot of admin work themselves anyway.

I don't think they will have a great problem. Even though they book through Thompson much of the clientele is repeat business for the ease of flights. I suspect they may end up offering x2 options though (half board & room only) in order to retain their customer base!!

I too had been looking for A&A on Thomson site to see how prices are for next year.  We have been staying there for years and have always hoped they don't go down the half board route, it will kill the village and possibly attract a different type of customer, particularly if they go down the all inclusive route which Stavros has mentioned before.  We certainly wouldn't want half board and would struggle with room only, some self catering facilities would be nice.

Also, I always look at the prices to book direct but it always works out much more expensive than with Thomson and as we live in the south west the only reasonably priced flights are with easy jet with terrible flight times. I think they may regret not being associated with a UK tour operator particularly if prices are prohibitive for repeat customers.  Anyway, we are back in September and as always really looking forward to it. It seems it's possible that this may be our last time. Unhappy

I would be sad if they do go down the half-board route. I never go half board as part of the fun of the holiday is to find somewhere different to eat every night. I guess we will have to wait and  see, but this year could be our last visit to Kalami so we will make the best of it in September and hope that A&A keeps a room only option as it really is the best way to holiday in our eyes.

If all this is true it is not all bad news.
Having travelled with Thomson and independently a few times in the last few years, when you factor in flights, transfers and accomodation I have found the cost is about the same or slightly cheaper for two people if travelling independently.

There is the added bonus of flexibility of arrival and departure days.

I do agree it would be sensible for the A&A to offer room only options.

The plans regarding the new bars and taverna have been floating around for a few years now.

As Dingojunction says I will still go whatever means of getting there are available.

I am told it is available for 2015 through an agent in Corfu town. If I find out I will post the details.

I can't help but wonder what effect this could have on the village. If A&A goes half board and takes a large number of evening diners out of the village what effect will this have on the other tavernas? I do hope that this is carefully though through, if there are not enough evening diners would all of the tavernas be able to operate profitably or could we lose one or more? I hope not!

Funny how these things start, Stavros is not the owner, he is the manager at the moment. Thomson are only advertising 2015 holidays up to March 2015, they are still in the process of sorting out next year.

Petergm,
I have an idea that Sue Avrio is in Kalami now or has been there recently so getting information from there.
Also Sparkletutu posted this: Thomson confirmed on a post on their Facebook page a couple of days ago that they will no longer be offering A&A after 2014. I only happened to come across it when someone else asked why they couldn't find it for next year.
