Wink
Hi, please can anyone advise how the mozzie or wasp situation is in early June, my son and I are quite susceptible to both, do I need to stock up on antihistamines?
Also, where is the best snorkelling without having to drive t'up North?
Cheers Gary

They won't be in huge numbers, but they will be around.

For snorkelling you want Paleokastritsa or Nissaki. One to the north-west, the other to the north-east.  Both mark the start of lots of accessible bays with pebble (rather than sandy) beaches, so the water is very clear.

Wasps shouldnt be too bad, but would recommend 50% deet repellent and plug-ins to protect against mozzies. Have also found that taking anti histamines for a couple of weeks before I leave, and during works for me. My doctor says is nonsense and is probably best to consult before taking.
its nice to be important but its more important to be nice

Never found any location where you are able to find Mozzies snorkelling. LOL.
Paleokastritsaisi an ideal place, the water is clear but cold due to springs that emerge into the bay.

According to tests done on an American site I found whilst browsing, only one method worked as a deterrent for mozzies: two tablespoons of lemon washing up liquid. I haven't tried it yet but I will next year.

Rocdoc, if you did you wouldn't need to worry about the mozzies.
