And does it vary much across the island - I assume Corfu Town is more expensive, but are prices fairly similar everywhere else?

Hi Tony R. As of last September, we found very little difference in the cost of eating out (Sidari area). In fact virtually no difference in the last few years. Drinks in the bars etc. had increased a little, but buying spirits from the supermarket had increased to the point that it was more expensive than in the U.K. We actually felt it was cheaper to eat out than to buy the food and cook it. There was so much competition the tavernas/restaurants were keeping the prices low. Better to have a small profit from a lot of customers than a bigger profit from only a few. If I remember correctly, it was 2/3 euro for a large Mythos and about 4 euro for spirits Hope this helps.      Moyra

Is that Agios Georgios north - near Arillas? Lovely place, good luck and enjoy.     Moyra

The only place in Corfu town that's more expensive is along The Liston, a lot of Taverna's we passed in the old town had better offers than in our resort (Paleokastritsa).
