Travelling on my own and being a pensioner, every penny counts. I looked for a cheap but reliable transfer, corfuairporttransfer.com/  quoted €10 for each direction and Travel Republic £22 return. Then a good friend notified me that Travel Republic were having a JANUARY SALE. I was able to book a return transfer in MAY for £13.28. No this is not a TYPO, I will have to contact the Lord Travel desk at arrivals and all being well get my connection to the resort. I hope that this post is of interest to others. It is worth checking out prices to other resorts.

Yammas, Colin.

There have been a few questions raised as to if my transfer would drop me off in a central location in the resort or to an actual location. My booking confirms an actual location for both outward and return transfers.

As pensioner like yourself I am watching my stash of euros. The bus from Agios goes to Corfu Bus Station and you catch a bus from there to other parts of the island. Last time we visited Agios we hired a car. Never again as it was frightening and we returned the car, minus a wing mirror the same day. We are going back to Stevens at the end of June for two weeks and would like to visit a couple of places that provide good food at reasonable prices. Do you know any reliable taxi firms that will take us for a reasonable price?
Don't know if Costas would take us. We walked to Pendati a few years ago but will not be doing that again. Any suggestions re reasonable taxi fares from and return to Agios, and any good Tavernas we should visit will be most welcome. The restaurants in Agios are fantastic but as we are staying for two weeks we would like to visit other places.

Hi last year there was a coach bus that took you to Paleokastritsa for the day. I don't know if it will operate this year, but would be worth finding out! (As it saves a bus into town then the local bus from the green bus station). Takes less than an hour each way. Paleokastritsa has many attractions, and a visit to the cave/grotto by boat or up to the monastery is well worth seeing .K

Thank you Keira.
Did not go last year so did not know there was a bus from Agios to Paleokastritsa. Will be great if it still runs. Will have to check it out. Thanks again.

Think that it might be a special bus arranged through a local travel shop. If you want to know anything, the best way is to ask GEORGE at GeeBees, he is sure to know. If it happens in the resort, he is sure to know.

In 36 hours I will be testing just how reliable my transfer arranged by Travel Republic from the airport to my resort was. I will post my report after arrival. Exclamation

Good luck Weststekker. I am sure it will be fine. Don't drink all the Mythos in the resort.

If you're lucky enough and no one is going to your resort then they (Lord) will put you in a taxi, over the years and on lot's of occasions when we booked with Travel Republic we have been put in a taxi to Kassiopi at no extra cost, But we have also been put on a old banger of a coach hand painted Hippy style with the words Groovy man emblazend on both sides.
Keep taking your, take a holiday in kassiopi pills.

Such a "Hippy Transfer Vehicle" would most be a good talking point on my return to the UK.

We were a laughing stock when it picked us up from the Kassimi. It certainly turned heads

I find the transfers good value for money, but you risk a ridiculous wait not being part of a major package/resort operation.  Last time, from landing, it was over six hours before I got to Sidari. They made you wait hours on the coach for more flights to come in, then made so many stops for just two or three people at a time it became a farce for a full coach. There were as many people getting off at each stop just to use a hotel's toilet as there were actually disembarking to stay there.

This time I'll taxi to the bus depot and ride the bus from there. I can't see it costing any more than a transfer. Even with a package tour, going to Paleokastritsa, I've had the hour-long diversion up to Dassia added on far too many times; once, even just to drop off some bags that had arrived on a later flight.

I've seen contracts that specify a particular payment for an 'express' shuttle with no more than two stops.  I'm pretty certain that means nothing when you're actually out there.

My transfer went smoothly, a wait of just over 20 minutes from the time I checked in at the Lord Travel desk. There were a total of 5 people on a 12 seater minibus. The first stop was at Pelekas Beach for 2 couples and then on to Agios Gordios. The minibus was a Mercedes which had seen a rather hard life and was burning little oil but was a speedy and very cheap transfer. A big thumbs up to Travel Republic who I booked the transfer through. Thumbs Up
