Hi everyone

I m a new member to this site, it looks great, I normally use trip advisor.
I have visited Corfu a few times and totally love it, we are staying in Kalami in August this year and I would like to use the water taxis.
Down to Corfu town and round to Kassiopi, also to eat in the Agni taverna Smile
So can anyone tell me if there are any water taxis and what time they leave Kalami and prices.
Also I would love to walk to Agni bay and Kouloura, I know it will be very hot but Im fine with the heat, how long does it take roughly to walk to these bays?
Thanks everyone
nadine

Hi Nadine
Corfu Town: Trips by boat most days, book in one of the travel shops, from memory about 20 euros per person, boats vary from fast to more sedate, also see Dino's boat below.
Kassiopi: You would need to book Dino's boat, normally 10 euros per person, but you have to work in with him regarding times and he may pick up others en-route.  His wife, Marietta works at the Adonis & Asonitis and will help you.  Leaflets with his phone number dotted around the village.

Agni: Free water taxis each evening run by Agni Taverna (speedboat) and Nikolas Taverna (Yannis more sedate boat)

Walking to Agni:  coastal path, bit rugged in places, flat shoes needed, about 30 minutes.

Walking to Kouloura: road all the way, about 15 minutes.

Does anyone know if it possible to take a wheelchair on these water taxis? I'm visiting this summer with my mother who , although she can walk, needs a wheelchair for when we are out and about for any length of time - she is unable to walk long distances without getting short of breath, and if we were to go to Corfu town she would definitely need it. Also I can't remember how easy it is to get on and off Yanis boat to Taverna Nikolas, I'd love to take her there, but not sure if she would manage the getting on and off very easily ... but then I suppose someone will always give us a hand??

I have seen pushchairs on Yannis' boat but never a wheelchair. If she is happy to accept help I am sure it can be done but may not be elegant Big smile  Go for it!!

Thanks Sue

Yes...I think we may well go for it. Having been widowed recently she told me it would be a dream come true to come to Corfu with me so I want her to experience my favourite part of Corfu. She's 84 and never ventured to the med so...first time for everything!

Sue - I'm fairly sure she'll be able to make it to the jetty if we take a steady walk, she just gets short of breath when walking far. She's very independent so I am surprised she's accepted that we bring the wheelchair with us - she never uses one at home, I'm just a little concerned that the heat will cause her to be more short of breath. I'm sure people will be more than willing to help if we need it.

Just be careful on the boardwalk as very easy to trip. Suggest you cut through Thomas' - he wont mind. When are you there?

Good idea Sue, I'm sure we'll manage, we'll just take it easy. We're there 9th June for the week, really looking forward to it. Just got fingers crossed that her doctor will clear her to fly, the airline have asked for a "fit to fly" certificate for her, can't see there's any reason why she shouldn't, but always best to be on the safe side I suppose.
