Waiting until the prices with Ryanair dropped a little paid off. Flights from Edinburgh in May with luggage £195. Very pleased with that. Also relieved to get booked as I do miss Paleo. Heart
I can close my eyes and see Paleo but it's not the same.........Roll on my next trip.

We managed to get a really good deal with Ryanair last weekend for 14th May. £340 with luggage, never been as cheap in the three years we've used Ryanair and that included booked seats. Corfu here we come. Roll on next May. We would like a week on Paxos but the ferry fares look a bit steep. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced accommodation please?

Hi Lilizella,

Monarch holidays are offering the Mimosa Oasis Apartments in Paleokastritsa for £57.91 per week for a studio for two for the dates you are going. You book through their own site under hotels.
I have not stayed there but it looks nice and the apartments have their own site where you can get a 360 degree view of the studio and pool etc.

At that price it must be worth looking at.

Hope you get somewhere sorted and enjoy your holiday.

Kind Regards
Tom and Marion

Thank you Tom and Marion. I always stay at the Odysseus Hotel which is so like home now that I wouldn't go anywhere else. However I will pass that info on as maybe others will want to give the Mimosa a try.x

Thanks very much Tom l will take a look. I think Mike and l met you years ago when we used to stay at the Marina Appts in Agios Gordis and you were down the road at Angelicas. We started to go to Liapades about three years ago and love the quietness and the traditional old village which hasn't changed in years but it's not for everyone l know. We feel we ought to try somewhere else then back to the Beach Hotel for the other weeks. Regards Kay.

Hi Karen,

Good to hear your waiting game with Ryanair paid off. I am in the middle of my waiting game with them. Marion has always wanted to go to Corfu for Greek Easter. This year, Easter Sunday lands on her birthday . I have booked the back flights but still waiting for the out flights to come down a bit. Don't think I will wait too long as they may go up again.

Kind Regards
Tom and Marion

Hi Kay,
It has been quite a few years since I stayed in Agios Gordis. I trust I was behaving when we met.
Marion and I have stayed all over the island since these days but do enjoy our trips to Paleokastritsa.

I hope you and Mike are well and enjoy your holiday in May.

Kind Regards
Tom and Marion

Hi Paleogirl, I'm indebted to Nardine for pointing me here. I am staying at your favourite hotel, Odysseus in September and have booked a suite. The views looked too good to miss and two showers felt nicely decadent.

Do you have any experience of these rooms? They look divine but anything could have happened since the photos were taken.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Nardine, as you can see I have asked the question, very kind of you. And I will look out for the Belvedere.

From your and Paleogirl comments the area around Odysseus seems well supplied with food, drink, sun and sea.

Having seen several regulars from there in the 'overflow' bar across the road LOL, I've wondered what the prices for that place are like?

You can do a package through Thomas Cook...I think or you can contact then direct and ask for a price which I do. Then all I have to pay out before hand is the flight and have more time to save to pay the hotel.

GunnerBill, I haven't stayed in them but friends have and they are gorgeous. I had a look around the suite when it was just finished and the views are amazing. I particularly like the sitting room as it is dual aspect and you're a bit spoiled for choice in relation to where you look. I am sure you will not be disappointed. I have 11 sleeps until I'm in Paleo and I'm at the hysterical and desperate stageLOL

Thanks for the information. Lucky you, only 11 sleeps, we have to wait till September. Not being familiar with the hotel I am full of questions, sorry. It looks as though the hotel is in several segments, obviously grown over the years, can you tell me which part has the suite, and presuming it is on a high floor is it served by a lift? Does the room look over the pool?

I will owe you several of whatever you like by the end of this😃

I'm also there 11th September for 3 weeks so if you were there at the same time and had a question please do not hestitate to ask. I am usually found at the bar or out on the terrace. The new rooms including the suite are in the first building which has the reception, bar etc- you can see the pool but it is next to another building. Your room looks directly down onto the terrace where you can sit in the evenings or out a bit directly at the sea. Don't worry about being in the building with the bar- it is never that loud late on and most people are fairly civilised- well except for me and my lot LOL. There is a lift in that building to your floor.
Below the hotel there is a wee shop for water, sweets, wine, cigarettes etc and it usually opens around 8am and closes late so no need to wander if you need something. It also has basic toiletries if you realise when you arrive that you have forgotten something...I always do despite all the planning Confused. And newspapers if you need to know the football scores.
If I can be of help...no problems.

Wonderful information. We arrive 18th for 10 days, so I can make good on the offer of a thank you. We haven't arranged a transfer yet but I think I might ask the hotel for a suggestion a little nearer the time. So looking forward to it. If you have the opportunity and the inclination please post a few pictures on your return. Again thank you.

There a local taxi that the hotel can arrange for you but the taxis outside the airport will charge about the same- last year 45 euros. Arrange the price before you get in.
I can never figure out how to post pics on here but I will give it a go. If you want to see photos in advance look for me on Facebook using my email nicol.karen(at)yahoo.com and I will add you so you can see- I have security on mine due to my work. Identify yourself as gunnerbill in a message and then I can add you.

We stayed at the Odyssius last August [walked in off the street to see if there were any vacancies], we paid E80 a night B & B, modernised room over the pool. Rooms are large as is the balcony and very comfortable [I think the room we had was 221]. Breakfast is geared towards the Germans, but was just acceptable. Entertainment most nights. If it is a hotel you want I would recommend it. We will be at Anthoussa once again in July
It's all Greek to me!

I have not stayed at the Odysseus but it looks really nice. It opened last week I think when we were there - lots of staff cleaning etc.

Terry W - have you seen photos of Costa's new baby girl - beautiful!
