Hi folks,
I have just joined this forum as I am looking to visit corfu for a week at the end of October. I would like a relaxing holiday with opportunities to walk in nature, be near the sea and explore some local historic sites / culture. I have no idea which parts of Corfu would be best suited for this. If anyone can assist me with there experience I would be grateful.

Many thanks,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,

We are staying in Paleokastritsa from the 24th to the 31st October.
Paleokastritsa ticks all the boxes on your wish list.

Enjoy your holiday.

Kind Regards
Tom & Marion

Hi Gareth

I am also coming to Paleokastritsa for the last week in October, staying at the Belvedere. The area looks beautiful and there are plenty of good walks around. If you want dirt cheap accommodation with hardly any single supplement - the bain of my holidays - look at the accommodation only part of Olympic Holidays. The only problem is that if, like me, your holiday goes into November you will have to find accommodation for any days that run into November as their contract with Olympic ends at the end of October. That, combined with a no-frills flight are giving me a bargain holiday.

To see the best of Corfu you will need a car to go to lovely places off the beaten track, there are many places you can go to, but I would stay in the begining of October as most places start shutting down, and also get Stevens map as it it the best one out, and you wont get lost. Most places will have walks, it all depends on the type of walk you want easy or chalanging. We stay in Govia which is central and all the island is easy to get to, it has a beach and shops ect or Sidari which is bigger again has a long beach and plenty to do, if you see somewhere you like the look of then come back and ask about that place you will get plenty of answers.
