Sunday 4th August – Two very poorly persons in bed and the holiday is looking like Me and my eldest.  I sleep on the sofa to avoid getting what ever they have…..

Monday  – Our flight isn’t until 5:50, so we’re hoping that this bug has worked it’s way throughConfusedWe plan to leave about 2.30pm and the car is packed up with the cases, and we’re on our way. Ten minutes later we’re on our way back. Somebody forgot their hat - No it wasn’t me! So we're now leaving on time at 3pm. Speedy boarding enables us to…..speedy board. Alyssa is still trying to get over the fact that we’re travelling by a budget airline and even more horrified that her seat is covered in crumbs!! I think we’ve bred a holiday snobLOL We arrive in Corfu at about 11:15 and find our taxi to take us to Kalami. By the time we reach our apartment everyone is too tired to go out for a quick drink.

Tuesday  – Ceris and I are up and out by 8, which is a luxury for both of us, we take a stroll to the supermarket and buy the essentials including donuts and juice for the early morning treat on the beach. We did this last year and she wanted to do it again.  I booked us a trip to Corfu town for that evening and we then spent the rest of the day swimming at the Elia Bar but the beer bottles got in the way……. Corfu Town was very quite. The Liston was almost empty. We found a little Taverna in a back street and had our evening meal there. The wife went shopping with my credit card ear-rings this time so it didn’t hurt as much.  I went all out and brought a hat. Do I know how to party!! There were some small battery operated cars, which the girls drove around the fountain by the Liston, looked fun and plenty of other children driving around with worried parents looking on waiting for the accident that never happened.

Wednesday – Ceris and I, as usual, are up early – it's so she can have her sneaky donut! We’re the only ones about again, apart from the locals that is. We decide to spend the day on the beach and buy the girls snorkels so they can go snorkeling. We buy fresh bread, cheese and ham and eat on the beach at lunchtime, then with the remaining bread feed the fish! I even got bitten on my ankle by one!  The little devil drew blood as well.  We try to hire a car for a few days but nothing’s available until Sunday! In the evening we eat at Thomas’s

Thursday -  Shocking News! Ceris sleeps in!!! and I go off on my own this morning and take an early morning stroll around the corner to Kouloura.  The day is to be spent in the pool at Elia, we lunch there (Gyros!!), by 3 the girls are desperate to go snorkeling. We eat at Kalami Beach Taverna in the evening.  The girls want to do Karioke (?) Although when it comes to it, only Ceris (8) gets up to sing - Firework.  Proud Parents!!

Friday – We have company in our apartment block who’s idea of going to bed late is when we get up!  They soon get the message when we have breakfast on the balcony accompanied by the Who! It’s a beach day! We eat at Thomas’s (can you see a pattern here)

Saturday – I sleep in.  As I have a small hangover…….The girls want to go to the beach so they can snorkel and feed the fish (what have we started)  The village is full of Italians this year, maybe is because its August. I don't think they fed the fish. But lots of other children seem to be badgering their parents for bread to feed the fish...

Sunday – Our neighbours are very quite.  Maybe they got the hint….. still we all seem to mooch today and don’t get out until gone 10:30, we make our way to the pool and it’s us. The rest of them are still in bed or gone home….Nope by 11:30 most of the usual suspects are up and the pool becomes crowded and the girls want to go down to the beach. In the evening, after our meal we go to the Kalami Bar, Jane wants another cocktail.. surprise me she says...'Sex on the beach' it is. However, not realising little ears are listening I get some more drinks in and the same again for Jane, Alyssa (10) over hears and starts laughing..... I ask whats the joke and she tells me 'Mummys drink'. of course Ceris wants in on the joke, when we tell her..that's it...both of them laughing and starts us off.

Monday – We’re not being picked up till 9.00pm so plenty of time for me and the girls to go swimming.  Turns out its me and Ceris. So acting on orders from the wife, we spend the whole day swimming either at the pool or in the sea. Apart from a late lunch where they wouldn’t let us take the table in the water. (and I’ve seen that happen on really hot days). Lunch is a table full of starters, Alyssa discovers she likes village sausage. – Don’t we all….Before we know it, we’re waiting for our taxi to take us home. All three girls manage to sleep which is fine for them, but I have to drive them all home!  By the time we reach home it’s 2 in the morning.
