Just got back from a week at the Katsaros Apartments in Sidari, well what can I say?? Fabulous...the weather for first 24 hours was a bit iffy but then it was glorious, Fotis was a smashing chap and although we didnt go much to the bar he always spoke every day and asked if we needed anything. The apartments were basic but functional and ideal as they are about 10 minutes from the main strip so in quieter place, watch your weight when there!! lol We ate out all the time as the choice is wonderful, the Family restaurant was lovely as was many more - Mojitos was nice for a cocktail. My daughter took over the driving and we drove to Paleokatritsa through the mountains and bought home made wine and oil - the scenery was spectacular, we also had a couple of days on the beaches at Kassiopi, very pretty place, we did the BBQ boat trip and that was good value, we also did the 3.30pm - 11.30pm Corfu Town trip by boat that was nice too. Make sure if you go on night boat you take a jumper its cold at night on boats.
Everything went well and now its back to work tommorrow.

Glad you had a good time and that the weather was kind. I love the boat trip to Corfu town in the evening. It's so romantic coming back in the dark...the stars, the moon...the twinkling lights ..Ahhhh!

Hi Salopman,
How did the driving go? We are out at the beginning of August & I want to hire a car to visit Kassiopi & Paleo, but I am a bit nervous.

Where do you suggest we hire the car, I would be looking for it for a day or 2? I'm not a bad driver but are the Greeks maniacs on the road???!!! We also want to do the evening cruise to Corfu town, was the boat enclosed as we would like to sit out in the sun? How long does the journey take by boat?

Thanks, PizBuin

Hi PizBuin, For Car Hire you can't do better than Value Plus in my opinion. We have used them for years. The owners, Yiannis and Sophie can't do enough for their clients and will go out of their way for you. Both speak excellent English. The cars are always good and the prices reasonable. You can pick up/drop off at the airport if you wish, or they will deliver to your accommodation. You can get a no obligation quote if you e-mail info(at)corfucarrentals.com and Sophie will get back to you. Good luck.  Moyra

Corfu town cruise is on open boat, the evening one would be best for you in August as temperatures very high and Corfu town can be oppressivein the day due to high buildings, cooler in the evening. Price 24 euro  Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, 15.30  to 23.30  giving you 4 hours in town. From Sidari, Vlaseros travel.

Also boat trip from Sidari to Paliokastritsa... 19 euro, Thursday  09.30 - 1600

Coach trip to Palio and  Bella Vista 15 euro, great day out, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday  10 am to 18.00
Visit comquate distillery, monastery, Palio 3 hours free time. Then on to Bella Vista for cream cakes ... take your camera,  then Lakones and on to the lace  and wine village Makrades.

For the past 8 years we have always used Xplore car hire on the corner next to launderette and opposite Three Little Pigs. Had a Suzuki Jimney last year for 2 weeks in July cost 450 euro, did get a reduction though as been there so many times. Have a look, great guy, always reminds me of JesusSmile

Love Life, Love Corfu!

Thank you for all the helpful information.

The coach trip to Paleo sounds ideal, there is a bit of everything on that trip & such a great price. I stayed in Ipsos years ago & we did an Island trip stopping at Paleo & the Monastery, it was fab.
