Anyone know if that annoying blonde woman is back outside B.E.D bar this year, trying to get people in on a night. She is sometimes outside Madison bar too. She has spoilt our holiday for the last few years. She harrasses you and CANNOT accept no for an answer!

We walk in the middle of the road & say no thanks, after a couple of days they leave you alone. She was featured in the Tale of Two Islands programme.

What you do is go into the bar, and tell the owner loudly (so that everyone hears) that you won't be drinking there because the woman he has outside is so rude and annoying, then walk out again.
I tend to bear down on such people, deliberately avoiding eye contact - fiddling with a phone is a good tactic - and if they want to risk stepping out in front of me then that's their lookout. It might seem mean, but I don't see the point in trying to be polite around someone who's not showing you one iota of respect. You can get plenty of practice in most town centres nowadays - those foreign students in black jerseys trying to sell you Dead Sea mud to wash your hands in. |

Yes she is still there, we came home Monday this week after 2 weeks in Sidari & far from spoiling our holiday we enjoyed chatting with all the girls & lads too on the strip, could be because we are over 70 she takes pity on us thinking we wouldn't go in anyway. Have a joke with them all & they will be OK with you x

Well, I've been harassed enough times in enough resorts to know that if they have to pay someone to go out into the street and hassle people to come in then it's probably not a place worth going into. If that's the typical way places in Sidari operate then I'll stick with Paleokastritsa. But if it's just the one giving the whole place a bad reputation then I don't see why they should be encouraged by going in.
I've no problem with people standing at the entrances to bars and restaurants inviting you in, but you shouldn't be made to feel you have to step out into the middle of the road to avoid being hassled - which is what people are saying on here. |

I don't have a problem with foreign students. I have a problem with people who rudely try and block my way in public then pretend to be nice to me to put me on the defensive, when they're the ones being rude and confrontational. It just so happens that (certainly in Southampton) it tends to be the migrant students who are willing to do these jobs on the lousy commission on offer. They're not 'canny'. They're just rude. |

Sorry but we don't want to beat her up - it was just a phrase by my husband. And saying NO Thanks does not work with this particular person. We have crossed the road, ignored her, said no umpteen times - she still doesnt get the hint. She spoils our walk on a night. I will be talking to someone about her this year if it happens again, as we go to that bar for breakfast in a morning.

Never had a problem with the touts. A polite no thanks seems to work. Sometimes wish I could walk along and not be bothered by them. Back there on the 30th so will run the gauntlet and see what happens.

Got to agree with you. We had lunch there 2 years ago passing through Sidari. We went there off the street by chance.(our choice) But, they do a very hard sell. As in, the sales team came on after we sat down and it was something I was not used to seeing in Corfu. That is why we prefer Paleokastritsa. No hassle. Tom and Marion |
