I've seen very good reports about Restia Suites, which are in Acharavi. I think they're with Thomson and are very elegant. Not the cheapest option, but I would think lovely for a honeymoon. You can Google them to have a look. They even have some suites with their own private pools, and their restaurant has an excellent reputation. Good luck.     Moyra

Congratulations!

My husband and I got married last June and we stayed in Kaminaki for our honeymoon. We rented one of the Villa‚Äôs with a pool overlooking the sea, and we loved our time there. We wanted something that was very laid back, no schedule and relaxing and that is what we found! There was a little store that we were able to buy fresh bread and items to keep in the villa and there are two Taverna's, we really only ate at the one, but the food was excellent and everyone was so very friendly! We were there the first two weeks of June, so it was before the busy time, but the beach was never crowded. We didn't do a car hire, we just called a Taxi to take us to Corfu Town when we wanted to go explore, and we did rent a boat.  Can't wait for us to return! We live in the US so it is quite a journey for us but we will be back in a couple years!  Congrats again on your upcoming marriage and good luck on finding the perfect honey moon locations!  Smile

Hi.
I have to agree with Moyra, have only ever seen good reports on the Restia Suites. It's on my to do list for a nice, romantic meal with the other half sometime soon. Probably not his though!

Saying that though, as you are on the Agni Travel site have you not thought of contacting Agni Travel direct and telling them exactly what your requirements are?

Just click on Contact Us and tell them what you want, you've got nothing to lose. Smile

How about Paleocastritsa? The scenery is beautiful, there are lots of romantic walks, small bays for privacy and great tavernas. There are different types of accommodation available depending on your budget and you are never too far away from those views.

Hi I came into the office today, one of the single ladies made a comment to me about getting married in Greece on a leap year is bad luck to the family... I'm a bit upset about this now... is there anything that is believed to be good luck when you get married?... Cry... I am getting married at Gretna Green in Scotland this September...
I just love that Corfu feeling!

Hi Lindybell, my hubby and I spent our honeymoon in Corfu - 3 fabulous weeks in Acharavi.  We stayed at Beachside Bungalows, which you can book through Sue and Carole at Travel With Friends. Bungalows are just a stones throw away from the beach.  I've heard about Restia suites and they do look lovely. Hope you get something sorted.

Lindybell
For a quiet romantic place to spend a honeymoon you will not beat friendly Agios Georgios north. Tucked away in a beautiful sandy bay between high headlands this un-commercialised, rather laid-back resort has only 4 hotels, all small and no tall blocks of apartments.
Apart from the long sandy beach and clear sea the surrounding countryside is great for quiet walking in the olive groves and hills. (http:www.agiosgeorgios.info). Pass your time just relaxing over a drink or delicious meal in the restaurants at the beach or walk to the rustic Fisherman's Cabin and get a water taxi back. Take a memorable boat trip to the islands or Paleokastritsa or be dropped off at a remote beach such as Porto Timoni.

Walk up to the tavernas of Afionas such as the Panorama or Dionysos and enjoy the bird's-eye views over Agios Georgios bay or northwards to Arillas and beyond.  You can take a boat or pedalo to the remote beaches. For honeymooners the list is endless!!

Hi Lindybell

1. It's just a comment, probably prompted by jealousy, a silly superstition, that's all it is.

2.  Even if there was anything in it, you are not getting married in Greece, you are getting married at Gretna Green in Scotland so it wouldn't apply to you anyway.

Don't let someone else's unkindness take the gloss off your plans. Mine was almost 16 yrs ago and I loved it so much I'd do it all again tomorrow.  I hope you enjoy yours as much.

Well said Deedee, I was unaware of that particular superstition, but asked Mr Google and it is true. But as you say Lindybell is getting wed in the UK so not a problem. Smile

Lindybell you do not say what you budget is or whether you want to be in a resort or not.

I have heard very good reports about the Restia Suites in Acharavi, a small luxury boutique hotel for adults only.

There again you could always email Agni Travel with your requirements and see what they come up with.

Whatever you decide to do, congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and I hope that you have a really lovely honeymoon, wherever you choose to go. Smile

I think Paleocastritsa is a beautiful spot for a honeymoon.
I know it's where I would choose.  We went there to celebrate our 20th anniversary.Heart
