First time flying with these at the end of this month (30th July), what are peoples general opinion of them?
I'll be flying from Manchester so if anybody has any stories to tell, good or bad, I'm interested. cheers |

Something to look forward to then!!!
Having a nosy around on the net to see if could find any stats on how Monarch have performed, I came across this website that gives an overall view including other airlines. http://www.flightontime.info/charter/charter.html it also has a page for scheduled airlines. http://www.flightontime.info/scheduled/scheduled.html At least I know now that my flight on average will be 24.03 minutes late... |

How I wish Olympic still did business with Monarch!
Never had a bad experience with them. They always left on time...well at least they did from Birmingham and it was a 6.30am flight so nice and early arrival. One tip though. If you can book extra leg room at the front of the plane do as the normal seating is a little cramped.

I have had no problems with them. Came back yesterday after return a journey with Monarch from Manchester with good flight times of 10.30 am out and 17.00 back home. Both flights were roughly on time - compared to the TC Manchester flight where passengers were being bused to a hotel because of a technical fault with their plane and there was talk of a 10 hour delay!

They are the best of the charter carriers we have flown with. I have the joys of Small Planet to forward to in September. Needless to say I have booked meals and seats numbers! Not tail gunning again!

Hi, Yes... I had two experiences where the flight had been delayed coming home twice, second time we knew in advance, so planned and evening meal, meant we could have and extra fews hours on our holiday, not bad at all.
First time was the same as TC's above comment. But still I'd rather be there than here! Without a doubt and I always book the next day off work now just in case we have delays.
But nice planes though, I'm a nervous flyer, when we booked in at Manchester they noted this and took me on first and made me feel really comfy, I actually enjoyed flying for the first time ever! Now I'm OK with flying... I think
SO I GIVE MONARCH THE THUMBS UP!!

There you go!!! A mixed bag really but in the main most posters experience has been a positive one!!! The one thing a do remember on the Monarch flight (the good one that is!!) is that the food (I am going back a few years now!!) was really nice!!! and the planes themselves were absolutely fine.

Talking of food on Monarch we always prebooked a meal on the plane only to find out that they gave out food to all passengers regardless if they'd paid or not!!

We flew with Monarch in May from Birmingham and surprisingly they weighed hand luggage so be wary!

Cheers Peeps
I paid for the 20kg option on the luggage and very rarely use that amount with me & the 12 year old so should be OK there. Also paid for the meals, I've always found them quite reasonable considering the prices charged in the airports. Glad to see that nobody on here seems to have had a nightmare with them. Previously flown with First Choice for the last 5 holidays and no problems at all with going to and leaving Corfu so hopefully Monarch can live up to that. If we're lucky, the coach journey from the airport to Acharavi won't be as long as the tour of the island you get with First Choice. |

Small Planet are an excellent airline.
They use mainly microlights but do have a couple of gyrocopters as well ![]() Actually they have A320-200's and 737-300's From their website Small Planet Airlines is a European leisure carrier who at this time is operating in 4 markets: Lithuania, Poland, Italy and UK. We are headquartered in Lithuania, but our approach is to have separate localized strong operations in every country. We have air operator’s certificates (AOC) in Lithuania, Poland, and Italy, therefore we may do much more than any non-national airline, e.g. fly outside of the EU or employ local staff on-board. We currently operate a fleet of 8 aircraft (6 Boeing 737-300, and 2 Airbus 320) and we have chartered to more than 120 destinations in Europe, MENA and Asia regions. In 2010 we transported nearly 0.4m passengers. |

We have also flown with Monarch loads of times from Manchester all over the place and never had any problems or any great delays, so I'm sure you will be fine. Have a great holiday
