I use Sun Sense Ultra factor 50. Costs a bit and in some chemists has to be ordered in. The best way to buy it is in a 500ml pump which costs about £30. But its good... recommended by my dermatologist. It can also be got on prescription from a doctor if like me sun bathing is not allowed. Also available in factor 30 as well as a special tinted version for the face and there's a formula especially for toddlers too. Glad to say it does not make the skin white! You can see the whole range and buy on line.

Personally I like Nivea (Primark is the cheapest for Nivea) but have been paying more attention the last couple of year to the stars rating and Nivea only get 3/4 stars compared to some which are 4 or 5. This year have opted for Boots Soltan as got a travel pack of a factor 15 & 30 & 50 kids & after sun for £12.99 which I thought was quite good. Also got a large Soltan after sun with mossie repellant as it is the best for sure! Plus was half price.

Hi,
We always use Piz Buin oil free. It really absorbs well. Just apply it first thing and it lasts us all day, even when swimming. Depending on weather, if it is really hot, start off with factor 30, then drop down to factor 15. Took us years of trial and error, but finally found this and now won't use anything else. It's quite expensive so we tend to wait until Boots have special offers on.

I used Ambre Solaire Golden Protect this year. Never again.
It's meant to give you a golden glow(which washes off) while you tan, but instead, leaves glitter type particles all over your skin and hands, even after a shower. My DH applied it to my back, and complained about the glitter left on his hands, even after washing. |

I've used Boots Soltan for years, but the last couple of hols I used Tesco's own brand Light Lotion. It's water resistant, photostable, anti-ageing, and moisturising. It doesn't upset my skin, which is quite sensitive and costs less than half the price of the Soltan. Moyra

Over the years weve tried the lot when it comes to sun lotions creams & oils, but this year going for the Malibu continuous dry oil spray, tried it last year (it impressed) but only took one tin, this year taking a few more, just need a good quality continuous after sun spray now.
