Hi we are coming to Kalami on 18th June for the 1st time for 1 week any advice on where to eat?

In a way it's lovely that there is not too much choice!! And generally they are all good! There are 3 main tavernas..Kalami Beach, Thomas's and The White House, all have fabulous views over the bay (the first 2 have tables on the beach and the White House has a lovely terrace). The bar/restaurant at the Adonis and Asonitis does very good value meals catering for both English and Mediterranean tastes. There is place called Matella's which is not open all season, but which does lovely and slightly different dishes. You also have the option of taking a boat round to the next bay (Agni) where there are 3 tavernas. All are fab, and the scenery is stunning. Agni taverna is more upmarket, therefore a bit more expensive. A speedboat will collect you and take you back to Kalami. Nicolas taverna send a boat round on the half hour between about 7 and 9 to collect you from the small jetty on Kalami beach. They have a Greek night on a Thursday which is good fun and good value in the most beautiful setting. You can reserve a table there at the small travel office in Kalami  on the path down to the beach just past Thomas's taverna. Dimitris on the main road above Kalami offers spectacular views. A 10- 15 minute walk out of Kalami takes you to the beautiful bay of Kouloura with it's tiny harbour. There is a single taverna there which is known for it's fish. Again a beautiful setting! We are also arriving on 18th June..it will be our 5th visit. We have been all over Greece but Kalami is very special.

Really interested in the Greek night on Thursday can you remember how much it cost?

There is also traditional Greek music played at Dimitri's Taverna "To Steki" on a Wednesday and Saturday night. No dancers but to sit and listen to both Dimitri's playing guitar, accordion and singing traditional songs is very pleasing indeed. Coupled with the views from his balcony and Alison supplying you with good wine there's nothing much more that we want for.

We are going to try them all! Countdown has started

Have to say that Kalami (and the rest of north east Corfu) is not the cheapest place to eat out, but location, location, location!! Having said that, you can eat as cheaply or as expensively as you like! Surprisingly, fish is expensive, and is generally charged for by the kilo, so be careful! Traditional Greek dishes I would say, tend to be cheaper (and are delicious!).  A meal for 2 including a starter and main course and a big jug of local wine would be on average 40-60 euros, quite a bit more at Agni taverna, but well worth the extra in my opinion for the wonderful food, service, surroundings and transfer by speedboat!! Much better than London prices by comparison. The Adonis and Asonitis does really good food which is excellent value, great pizzas, a selection of dishes which appeal to all tastes and some very good Greek dishes, all served in nice surroundings and in a good atmosphere. We generally do a bit of a mix, cheaper and very cheerful some nights and slightly more upmarket and expensive others. That way we seem to balance out our budget!! We are also arriving on the 18th, getting very excited now especially seeing the Corfu forecast which looks fantastic after the terrible weather we've been having!! Maybe see you there!
