I used to love going to Stoupa! We first went with our son when he was about 13 and then later on started taking our grandson. The scenery is really stunning. I loved the Mountains and traditional villages! The weather was always scorching hot no matter what month we went and the water was always cold...yes I am a wuss but it was those fresh water springs that did it!! So many happy memories. Yannis the Pigman who every night could be found chopping his roast pig that would be served on greaseproof paper with the best crackling you could have and accompanied with fresh chips and a plate of seasonal vegetables. There was Ilias from Taverna Pefko who like many a Greek had the memory of an elephant and never forgot a face! Kaligria beach was our beach of choice where we would arrive early to claim a spot on one of the small beaches that would hold only a few people and then stroll up for lunch at the Panorama Taverna which had the most amazing views over the bay!! Bliss!I expect we would still be going now but for the ridiculous high prices that happened over night.

Hey...I'm just back from the Stoupa area for the second time. I absolutely love the area with it's mountain backdrop and traditional food. This time I stayed in Ag Nikolaos with it's delightful harbour and fishing boats but walked to Stoupa along the cycle path several times. Kardamili is a short bus trip away and was bustling with diners when I was there. The Pefko taverna and the Panorama at Kalogria are 2 of my favorites as well

I love the Stoupa area too -
We stopped going there when the only UK departure points became Manchester and Gatwick.

We like Parga and one of our friends said if you like Parga you'll love Stoupa so after much googling and forum searching we couldn't find a bad word about the place anywhere so we've booked for next July

We had a holiday in Stoupa in 2004 and loved it, we would like to go back but there are still so many other places to see!! I'm sure you'll have a great time.
