Hi there everyone,
I was just wondering whether any of you could help. I'm looking at booking to go to Lakka this year with my sister and Mum. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and struggle with walking more than 10/15 minutes. I just wondered what the walk is like from Lakka harbour to Harami beach, is there a big incline you have to walk? Also I am thinking about staying at either the Bastas Complex or Amfitriti Hotel. Is it a hard walk to Bastas from the harbour, is it on quite a bad hill or just a gentle slope?? I've heard about all the steps at both Bastas and Amfitriti but was going to ask to be positioned in a lower room. Any help on this would really help. Thanks guys |

We stayed at Bastas on our honeymoon years ago. If I remember there were many steps up to our room.
There are rooms available within a 10 minute walk from the harbour which we have stayed in on return visits. Try Planos, http://www.planos.co.uk/ The beaches are not the best but easy to get to, Lakka as a resort makes up for that, magical place! Steve, ![]() |

Lucy I can really sympathise with the no energy bit, though not as extreme as yours. I have Pernicious Anaemia and am allergic to the injections. I rely on tablets which keep me at the low end of 'normal' B12 as long as I get my sleep etc. It is hard for people to understand that if you are tired then even if you put your foot on the pedal right down to the floor, no more revs will come out and you grind to a halt! Paxos is just the place to get plenty of rest.
Amfititri is a 5 minute walk along the path next to the sea, fairly level but some steps, also not sure how dark it is at night. It has been levelled out more in recent years but can be a bit rough in parts. the alternative is a longer walk up a steep hill. The complex itself is set on a steep site. Personally I would say not suitable for you even with a lower room. Bastas is in the village, up a slight incline, and steps up to all the rooms. Kostas and family (and the rep) would ensure you had a 1st floor room, then the pool is up more steps at the back. the only problem is depending on what airline Olympic use from your airport you may end up in Corfu for quite a while, or overnight (see posts here and on other forums). Would you be looking at 1 or 2 rooms. the 3 bed rooms would be a squeeze for 3 adults. There are 2 apartments that are advertised as 2 bedrooms, but are 3. If you want to arrange your own flights you can book Bastas room only, but then have to arrange own transfers etc. Routsis have places that would be suitable, email Irene with your needs and she'll find something, and arrange transfers too. You won't be stuck to Mondays either so not as busy at the airport. The same family also have a website Andrikos studios, and Angela can suggest alternatives if full. I have noticed on some of the booking websites that some of Planos accommodation appear on independant booking websites, but with different names. Ionian Villas have a couple of studios behind Harbour Lights, not sure if you would like being right in the middle of the village life? Depends on what time of year you visit. The bus is great for getting around the island, and taxis too. Good luck in your plans. |

Thank you so much for your replies, they've really helped. I am now thinking of staying at the White House on the lower floor apartment in Lakka. I found it privately on this website: http://www.paxos-greece.com/rental-villa-whitehouse.htm and have contacted the owner but am slightly scared it could be a con. His name is Nikos Dalietos. Thought maybe if some of you lived there or know the place well you may know him? I'm guessing that's a wide shot. Anyway place is ideal for me being in between beach and harbour and has 3 rooms.
Thanks again for your help!! Planning a trip when I'm not well can be tricky! x |

I am staying in the upper apartments in 4 weeks time - Nikos has been great so far - go ahead and book -your money is going direct to Greek people rater than Olympic.

Ah thankyou so much for letting me know that...feel more at ease booking! Are you using the email dalietos(at)yahoo.com to contact and what site did you get his contact from (just so I know I'm in contact with the same person and not a con person!)?

Sorry Lucy - I have only just seen you question - yes that is the right email address. I am sure he isn't a conman as he has given me photo's of the inside of apartments, also I had to change my dates as he already had a booking - a conman wouldn't have gone to all that trouble. He has also only asked for a deposit - not full amount.
He sounds a nice man to me
best wishes Nora

Book dispatch of scene treasury has been introduced on this page. This is a decent book of treasury. Compilation is an immense field of science. Individuals typically appear to be keen on this specific gathering of study for nursing assignment help. A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing this.
