Could anyone tell me what weather is like in Crete in April, also are lots of things closed down.
Would also welcome resort recommendations.
Thank you

Hi - I've been to Crete a couple of times so cant say I'm an expert at all, but if you are going early Crete is the island being well south for a chance of better weather. Like all other islands I guess some tavernas and shops will not have opened until the season starts in May, but there are always some open for business throughout the year. I have been in May and found the weather warm enough by day just needing a cardie or something at night. I assume April can be a little variable and a bit cooler still.
Resorts depends which airport you will be flying into and if you want large with facilities or small with just a few shops and tavernas. Personally I like the Chania end of the island but good resorts in both the north west and north east, and some in the south too. I think in April I wouldn't go too small to make sure there are a selection of tavernas open. Perhaps a place like Elounda, mid size, not rowdy at all would be suitable. There are larger resorts if you want.
