Looking forward to visiting AG in September with my hubby who is a strict veggie... any recommendations for lunch/dining out?

We've visited Greece lots of times before so are aware of the standard menu options like briam, greek salad, spinach pie, stuffed veg, big beans... but would be interested in any establishments offering anything in addition to those... And is there a decent pizza place in town at all?

Cheers!

There are several restaurants serving an increasing number of vegetarian dishes. For a home made pizza I would recommend Nikki's a small location in the main street, it will be made to your requirements. Another 2 locations would be To Orthollithi at the southern end of the beach and Stevens on the Hill during their Pizza Night. Both locations will tailor a pizza to your requirements.

We've had pizza in Zeferos on the beach - just right for watching the sunset.

I'm a veggie and tend to have several starters or the mixed starters plate as my main meal. Love the fried courgettes and tzatziki. My favourite pizza places are Thalassa on the beach or agree with post above; Stevens pizza night - it's great 'cos you choose your toppings and can load up the veggies. So fresh and delish. Also agree that Ortholithi is great - she'll tell you what she' got in and you can choose your own meal! Also had a really nice veggie pasta dish at Elena's made with fresh veg from the garden. Very nice. I'm hungry now!

Courgette fritters/croquettes at Thalassa are lovely as is their tzatziki and I agree with all the other suggestions above. I'm pretty sure he will find plenty to eat.  Try Kalimera bakery as well for spinach and cheese pies.

We've just returned and I must say Sebastian's was probably the best place for veggie choices. They have a full page in their menu. I had their veggie moussaka three times - it's really good!

Just thought I'd report back following our week in AG! We ate at Sebastian's three times (well it was the nearest to our accommodation in Villa Olga!) and it was excellent each time - plenty of veggie choices for my other half - and lovely fish dishes for me. We also had great veggie pizzas at Ortholithi and Thalassa. Perhaps the most interesting was Angela's at Pentati village, we walked up there from AG (took about an hour and gave us a good appetite!) and the guy was really friendly, invited us into the kitchen and rustled up a great selection of beautifully cooked vegetables, many of which were from the garden outside. It was more like home cooking than the normal tavern fare. We had meant to call a taxi for the return trip but he got his wife to give us a lift home!

So thank you everyone for your suggestions, and hopefully we'll get back to AG some time to try out some more of the recommended places!

So pleased to hear that you enjoyed your food during your visit to the resort. Angelas in Pentati is a special place, nothing is too much trouble. As a bonus, from their roof garden there are some fantastic views over the resort. I have only been back from Agios Gordios a week and am already missing it. I was also staying in Olga (Room 1) and the only thing to shatter the peace was Georges voice at Gee Bee's supermarket.Embarrassed Clap

We had a nice veggie plate for lunch when we stopped off at the Golden Horizon half way up the hill, back in July.
